Ethanol question
The owner's manual states reformulated gas (RFG) can be used in the car as long as the ratio of oxygenate (ethanol) to gasoline does not exceed 10%.
I wanted to mix in some 100 octane with my 91 in order to get 93. The 100 octane race gas they have here (Rockett brand) has ethanol in it. If you look at the attached .pdf it states their 100 octane has an oxygen content or 3.1% which I believe converts to something like 9.5%-10% ethanol content. Does anyone here know if this is accurate?
BTW what happens if you use a fuel with higher than 10% ethanol content? Does this damage the engine?
