What is the black antenna for on the top of your car?

My friend glued it back on already, I'll take a picture of the bill or quote from them and a picture of the car when I see my friend again.
The guy there didn't know what the antenna was for either when my friend told him the GPS and radio still worked. (excluding sirius) But we knew it was only the sat radio didn't work and my friend doesn't use that at all... so the guy just recommended that since we had it glued on already.. might as well take a chance and see if the guys at the dealer will find out when my friend returns the car back to the dealer. This place wasn't at the dealer.. it was just the MB auto body shop.

LOL... alright if you want to think it's BS then keep thinking it is. I'll post the bill that the guy gave us as a quote to SHOW you that it is a $1800 job and takes 4 days. Can't convince you that they told us to glue it back on.. but if you are willing to take a trip to toronto, i'd be more than happy to bring you there and listen in to our conversation.

o also, the guy said that if they ever had salvage a c350/c63 trunk spoiler he'd just give it to me for a beer or something.. since he took me out back and it was just litered with bumpers and mufflers..I asked what they did with all the old bumpers and stuff and he said they'd just leave it here for a while and throw it out.
