Quote: i actually bought it yesterday and then saw that it didnt fit the c63 amg . i contacted the seller and he told me it does not fit it so he fully refunded me the money . i appreciate the honesty from this seller . i guess you have to mod this grille to make it fit .
Which one did you buy? I also bought one off ebay like 2 days ago? Can you show me the one you bought just in case because i dont feel like trying to fit something on the car that it just wont fit!

Have a look at the original photo- his hood is not shut properly?
Grill maybe to tall as already posted.

So lets get this straight.

1. The OP makes a post and the community stands up and praise this new "mod".

2. The community starts asking how, where, when, price?

3. The OP disappears.

Go figure...

Well, I love the look so I bought one anyway. I figure if it really doesn't fit, I'll modify it. I was going to paint it all black anyway. I guess I'll cut a little out of the sides and the underside of where the mesh meets the top bar... Shouldn't be too hard. Just time consuming.

Wow....i guess you can't take a vacation from this forum or the sewing circle turns on you

(fyi i've been up at the cottage for the last week with no access to the net, and that's why i haven't responded to any of the posts)

Just to answer some questions:
  1. I did not purchase this grill from those crappy dealers on EBAY
  2. I purchased the grill directly from WALD
  3. The pics of my hood not closed on the right side are because i did not close my hood all the way before i took the pic (not because the grill does not fit).
  4. I did have my bodyshop install it, as i would with any mod as i did not want to take the risk of cracking the original grill during the removal.
  5. The grill did need some minor mods to finese in into place but it only cost me $60 worth of my bodyshops time.
Guys...i posted the pics to show you a mod that i had done. I was not telling anyone to go out and buy it and especially did not say that i bought.it from EBAY (i don't buy anything from EBAY).

I actually didn't try to do it myself. Got my bodyshop to do it....

Took less than an hour to get it to fit just right

I apologize.

Is the black section painted or molded in black? Is this one made specifically for the C63? If not, I have a Dremel and can make it fit like what C63 Guy said.

I was thinking one of us should contact WALD and ask them if they can make one that actually fits. They could obviously get some business...and maybe we get a group discount.

The black section is moulded in black.....

They said it was made for C63 but it didn't seem like it was a direct replacement

Good to know molded in black and made for the C63. If your bodyshop only charged $60, it means it was done within an hour or so. Is the star solid and flat or is it like the original one? Like C63 Guy said, we need all of the cooling we can get. It is hard to tell from your pics.

How do we buy WALD products in the US?

I´d buy one if we do a group buy. But think WALD should be able to do one that fits 100% so we dont have to make mods on the grille..
