Got my SL63 Style Single Bar Grill!!!

If you dont mind, would you care to take some close-up pics of the grill installed on your car with the hood up? I'm just disappointed that the body shop i took it too couldnt do **** to get it to fit right and i won't stop until i have this grill on my car... Thanks

What's so stupid about it....i bought the grill...took it my bodyshop...and got it installed within an hour......if your bodyshop comes back and says thye cant do it, i have a tough time believing in their skills....
guys graft rolls royce clips on 300 C\s and you're telling me you can't get a grill that's made for the car on the car?

i've included a pic of the grill..as you can clearly see you can shave at least an inch and a half off the bottom if you had to to make it fit...

Like i said in a previous post, they said it was made for a C63 but it really didn't seem like, hence the mods to get it in....
but i was willing to pay whatever it took to get it on, because i think it looks so unique
again.....grinding, the bottom down as well as grinding the hinges on the grill and the perches they sit, will get it to sit right down....once you close the hood and have it sitting right you can lock the clips from underneath....
the one good thing about the grill is that the star is an original MB part and pops in and out....therefore you should install it with the star out, that way you can get your hand behind the grill through the star opening and push it down snug so it locks into place

Except for the center that looks axactly like the one I used to have on my C300 right down to the box. Once again any C63 on LI want to try it on their car you are more than welcome.

Just chiming back in, as I stated, Wald does not make a C63 grill, however looks like there is some information that the SL grill can be made to somewheta fit. I will look into this as well.

That's the exact same grill i have sitting in my garage. BTW the height measurement of the stock C63 grill is 10 inches in the middle. This grill from EBAY is 12 inches. It needs more than just a 1 inch reduction to make it fit in the C63. I have contacted WALD and so let's see if they sell this grill for the C63 or not.

As always, everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but in my opinion the more pictures of this grille that I see the less I like it. The huge flush/flat star versus the smaller 3D stock star just doesn't do it for me. Seems like a lot of work to make something fit that looks worse than the original when you are done with it.

My grill does not have the huge flush flat star...as you can see in the pic of my grill, the star is almost identicle to the factory star....just larger

OFFICAL word from WALD USA, just got off the phone with Phillip (2nd cal in two days), and he was quite agitated by what I told him in regards to the forum posting of a WALD grill for the C63 W204, well for any MBZ grills by WALD period. His response to me, was WALD does not make ANY grills, for ANY car, PERIOD. The grill that they show in their website it just a black painted stocker. The W204 *Black Bison*C300/350, is NOT a WALD grill, just a painted stock one. If at any point they do a *special edition that requires a grill they buy it from another manufacturer, but this is VERY rare, most of the time they just leave the grill alone or paint it black.

Did the seller misrepresent the grill as a "WALD" to OP? Something is strange here. First OP stated it was made by WALD specifically for a C63, then later made to fit. Is it possible that OP got it from Japan and the USA office doesn't know about it? Just giving benefit of the doubt here. I'm sure there are a lot of annoyed members by now. Thanks for your investigation.
