Question about servicing the C63

How often is it recommended for oil changes in these cars?
Also, is there a Service A, B , C etc, etc like other models?
Also, is there a required oil change for the rear differential and how often?

I searched a few of these, but never got any clear answers or couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks in advance!

Oil change

I think it's 10,000 miles, but if you're driving it hard, I'd change it sooner than that. I've heard a lot of people say they'd change it after 5,000, but it's synthetic and MB says 10K, so I'm apt to believe the manufacturer.

The display will tell you when you're up for a service. It gives you a countdown, either by miles or by days, whatever is shortest. Get the service done religiously. It may seem expensive, but in the long run, it should save you money.

if you're changing the oil every 5,000, then let them know. Some of the services are basically an oil change, so you might be able to skip a few.

You can see the attached PDF file. That should answer all your questions on the service and intervals as well. Direct from MB and what service is due based on miles driven.

I have done numerous UOA's on Mobil 1 0W-40 in a BMW M5 (yes, a different car). Once I took the interval out to 10K miles. I will never go that far again as that particular analysis showed high levels of bearing metals, about 4 times higher than I had ever seen from shorter intervals with the same oil. IMO, if you are using the 0W-40 and are not replacing much makeup oil (meaning your C63 is not using much oil), you would be well advised to change it well before 10K miles. YMMV, but from my experience I would change it between 6-7K miles. I consider the 0W-40 to be a perfectly good oil, but from what I have seen the 5W-40 ESP version looks to be better.

Your experience was with a Beamer? How can you apply that to the MB?

I said "different engine." Take it, or don't, FWIW. Why don't you run yours out to 10K and enlighten us with a UOA?

thanks guys. Yeah, I plan on 5k intervals, not 10k. 10k is way too long for any car.
