I've done that on two very unfair occasions and it made me drive away feeling a little bit more like I won.....

I didn't because I had a "04.5" w203 SPORT and that model got the larger brakes, lowered suspension, and "thruster" type wheels that the '04 did not have. Also, the "04.5", was the in-between model of the '04 SPORT and later "AMG Sport" with body kit.

I was involved in an accident in NYC and did not have my insurance information in the car, so I got a ticket for no insurance. When I submitted the proof of insurance, the ticket was voided.
I was also given a speeding ticket in New Rochelle for 65 in a 55 and of course the azz wipe waited until I was in a construction zone to pull me over so he could give me a larger fine. I went to court and the hearing officer after hearing my story, rolled his eyes as if to say he had seen enough of this type of ticket, reduced the ticket by $60 and off I went to the cashier. BTW, I still think that I should have paid zero, but in this era of tight budgets, I guess we all have to share in the burden.
Go to court, it will be worth it.
