C,S, and Manual Switching?
I've had my car for about a week now and I'm pretty satisfied overall. I've read the manual twice and see something new each time I read it. I read that when switching from Comfort to Sport or Manual you should be stopped and in Park. Well a couple of times while in Comfort I hit the button and popped it into Sport just to check it out(while moving). I didn't feel any ill effects and was wondering if I will damage anything by doing that. I'm doing pretty well following the break in procedure but I just had to try it

I drive in S mode all the time even during the "break in period" if you really get on it it does some great downshifting. and if you really put your foot in it it goes all the way to the redline before shifting it's a beautiful thing that you can get that kind of performance without watching the tachometer.

C63 AMG Arctic w/ Stage 1 Tune, DoubleXX pipe, MCD-631X coming soon
The modes are not as drastic as BMW's *M* modes, so in this car in slower type driving you will not really notice anything.

C63, SLK, F150
I have been shifting from all three modes for over 42,000 miles and no problems at all. I do however limit the changes at high speed or under acceliration, just to be on the safe side.
You should be fine but do not overdo it with shifting during hard pulls or high speeds,
Be safe

2012 C300 Sport and a few others...
hello all...this is my first post..I dont have a c63, I only have a c300, but i was wondering about this same thing so i figured i'd chime in here..
the manual and my salesman told me only to change the programs while in park. I havent done it while moving yet, but i do notice a thump from the rear end when i switch the programs while stopped...
does anyone know what is actually going on when that button is pressed??
btw i love my car..wish i had a c63..maybe next time, but its just a cruiser..i have a 500 rwhp Supra (built by me) for when i feel the need for power...but that car barely leaves the garage..
thanks

i have no problem changing while on the move but i hardly ever take it out of S mode. but i don't know about the 300 thats a whole different animal. I would play it safe and go by the manual.
