C63 vs SL63 and CL63 and a bit of SLR 722

hello

i tried an SL63 and CL63 today at the AMG days in my country so i felt interesting to share a comparaison with our beloved C63.

Even trying to be objective and having an SL500, i can tell anyway the C63 is far more fun to drive than the SL63. Very more dynamic, with a more precise return of sensations from the wheels. SL63 is less sharp and CL63 is pure confort but no sensations at all.

Noise is inexistant in the CL, great in the SL and even a bit looder than the C, wich seems logical for a cab. But the C noise is nicer, more racing.

Powers sensations are fading too much in the CL, you don't feel them a lot except for the ESP turning on every 10 secondes, thanks to the weight. SL is a beast but not really more than the C. the gear S+ mode is terrific. But overall, no regret to have choosen a SL 500 and a C63 more than a SL63.

Last word for the SLR 722. Another world of course. Terrible noise, accelarations, sensations, body shaking... A true supercar... But... a bit disapointed by the plastic inside, the lack of gps, or even decent radio, no park control despite a so long hood... The leather and alcantara are fabulous but why plastic in such a car ??? Aluminium would have been so nice. Anyway, it will stay in my mind forever, this is an incredible car.

one again, sorry for my poor english, hope you liked to read it anyway

When we had the AMG tour here in Vegas, I felt the same way about the E63 as you have with the CL.

BTW-I understood everything you said.

When a bunch of us Canadians did the AMG event in Dallas last november with 18 AMG cars to race on a track, ALL the instructors, including some from AMG Germany when given the choice of which car to track and do demo laps all fought for the C63 over cars such as the SL63, Cl63, S63, E63, SLK55 etc, you get the picture, I asked why and they said on a track this car is the "fun" car and most exciting to drive, they claimed in to be nimble and precise. Dont get me wrong though, driving the Sl63 with the top down at full throttle and throwing it into corners was an experience hearing that motor on full song. And of course that new tranny is very impressive.
