Its a different lug nut than your original OEM ones, it comes with its own socket head, so you ONLY have access to that nut. So a rim stealer theif wont be able to take off ur rim, and living in So Cal you hear of this all the time.

...so if the stealer comes prepared with all different socket heads he can still remove the nut can't he?....minimizing the chance of theft though!?

Negative, theres a special company you call them and give them the model of the car and they send you ur OWN lug nuts and your OWN socket head with its OWN part # So YOU only will have access to ur Lug nut. I ordered 2 socket heads just in case I lose one.

If you have nice aftermarket rims or nice OEMs. It is advisable to purchase Lug locks.
That's the first thing I did when F1 Motorsport installed my BBS LMs.

I have them on all three vehicles. Took the precaution a few years ago after a buddy had all four tires stolen off his Vette parked in the driveway right in front of his house in Burke, VA. Even their dog didn't sound an alarm so it had to be a pretty quiet job.

A limited number of McGard wheel locks are available on Amazon at about ⅕ the price of what you'll pay at an M-B dealer.

Here's what I get:

Safari can’t open the page.

Safari can’t open the page “http://www.gorilla-auto.com/” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding.

Strange, the website comes right up on my iPhone.

http://www.gorilla-auto.com/

May be the server was down earlier. Give it another go. If not I suppose you can search under "gorilla lock" with google and it should get you to some vendors that sell this product.

Works now. Tks!

They don't have a large selection of lengths for 14mm wheel bolts.

How about a McGard pic (that's what your M-B dealer sells you with the Mercedes name on the box):

Lug bolt on the left (four/box) and one unlocking device which goes over the bolt and you slip your M-B lug wrench over the other end. Since each set is slightly different, you need to keep a copy (or two) of the security code stored away in case you lose the unlocking device and need to order a new one.

i think i need these because the stock cost $800 a rim; and i don't want to loose them.

Exactly, as I said nice OEM stocks.

McGard is a very good product but save some $ and purchase it at regular tuning places not at a dealer.
You will save at least half the cost.

Why would you pay even ½ the McGard retail price for M-B spec locks when I gave you a place (post #14 above) to buy C-Class McGard locks at roughly the cost?
