The Dragon turned 1 yesterday.
So, what does a year in a C63 entail? Let's see:
20054 Miles.
~1670 Gallons of gas. (Assuming 12mpg average)
~$5200 in gasoline. (Assuming $3 a gallon)
Times pulled over: 9
Tickets issued: 1
Fines paid: $514 and traffic school starting in two weeks.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Top speed seen with passengers: 185mph
# of times: I've lost count.
Top speed seen driving solo: 195mph
# of times: Just once.
The difference between 185 and 195: Jesus, God, what am I trying to prove to myself?!
# Rear tires used: 10
Shortest lifespan of a set: 3 weeks. (the original set)
Time spent in various shops doing bodywork, carbon and paint: ~9 weeks.
Miles ridden commuting to work on bicycle in that time: 757.4
Weight lost from riding: 0lbs
Weight lost from component upgrades: At least 65lbs.
Original parts left over from upgrades: Front & rear rotors, factory shocks and coils, rear lip, exhaust from manifolds back to, but not including, mufflers, factory wheels (soon as my HREs come back), original front tires (50% tread depth), crank pulley, painted side markers, air filters, a bunch of assorted bulbs, rear fender liners, brake pads (~60% depth left), some brake lines, and I think that's about it...
Time I dreamed about having an M3: 22 years
Time I spend finding the exact right M3 when I was finally ready to buy one: Two weeks.
Time it took to call BMW dealer and cancel purchase after test driving C63: 5 minutes.
Time spent regretting decision to purchase C63 instead of M3: 6.208 seconds.
Pictures I've taken of my car for work and personal: 1,704.
YouTube views of videos with my car in them: 67,500-ish
Times I used my cover shot/article in European Car to get laid: 2
Times my iPhone gave better directions than the factory nav: 100%
Time spent composing this post: 1 hr 47 minutes.
How long I plan on keeping my car: Till the goddamn wheels fall off.
I could go on and on, but it's really late...
It's been a truly great year. I want to thank the guys at Evosport for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to get back into metalwork. I want to thank all the companies that have given me deals on parts or services, I would be even more broke than I am now without your help. And lastly, I want to thank everyone I've become friendly with on the board and on the road, you're great guys with a wonderful depth of knowledge and a real passion for these crazy cars!
Keep the shiny side up,
Josh

Funny, Took delivery on Nov 1st 2008 and my stats remarkably close to yours.
Only 3 sets of rears though. Must be the winter here that accounts for the difference...LOL
1 stat missing is worst milage logged. I Averaged on my last Track day: 43.9 Ltr/100Klm or 5.36 MPG (US) / 6.43 MPG (IMP)
Lets hope we all get to celebrate many more.....

Happy B-Day to the Silver Dragon and thanks for an early entertaining post this Monday. BTW- my '90 Corrado graced the pages of European Car mag in the 4/92 issue and I never got laid from it. But I did get to meet Les Bidrawn who is one cool cat. I guess I would have needed to make cover and an AMG to get laid, huh?

Happy B-Day to the Silver Dragon!
I expect nothing but great things from this car, one of the highly modded C63s that I think will be in the group for one of the first to be so fast and original. Hopefully once your other mods are in and we can see some dyno numbers along with some 1/4 mile times. I ROFL on the weight lost riding bike vs. the weight the car lost from comportment upgrades.
Any great passenger ride stories in where the car scared them? Any top kill stories you would like to share?

As far as pictures go, she is painted and gorgeous, but we're still waiting on a few final parts for the glamour shots. I'd love for everyone to see her, but like I've said before I have an agreement with Simon and Brad that they get to pop the cherry on that one.![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
And RedSRT, yes, I remember getting beat while I was spinning my way through first, second, and third gear. Thanks for bringing that up. Next time I'll be sure not to have bald *** tires on the car. And I'll throw some ballast in the trunk too, just in case. Just goes to show all the power imaginable isn't any good without the traction to use it...![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
Thanks again,
Josh
