Biggest lip on 20" on c63.

Biggest lip on 20" on c63.
My friend is looking to get 20" asantis and they telling him he can fit a 3 1/2 in lip on the rear rim. Anyone with some experiance with this plz help. Tnx in advance

First off, not to say anything negative, but Asanti for a C63? really? Lip size will be dictated by soo many variables, as pad height, face design and rim halves available in a specific size requirement. Do you know exactly which Asanti wheel and what the dims are? If I can get every aspect of the wheel, I can figure it out.

First off, not to say anything negative, but Asanti for a C63? really? Lip size will be dictated by soo many variables, as pad height, face design and rim halves available in a specific size requirement. Do you know exactly which Asanti wheel and what the dims are? If I can get every aspect of the wheel, I can figure it out.

. my friend is looking to get 20" asanti wheels for his car, why, it might be bc he has a x5 with 22's from them but besides that i have now clue why. does asantis he got on his x5 are phat btw but what model his picking for the c63 i dont know, i think you cant put a bigger tire on the rear then 285, and wider then 10.5, and i also think that you cant put a 3.5" lip on the rear with out rubbing or rubbing while going up and down street ramps. anyway ill try to get some numbers from him but i dont think he will tell me anything we got a bet going soo......

There are 3 main concerns:
Size of tires and rims you are putting. Ofset of the rim and last but not least they must be 3 piece custom design.
As much as you want to brag about Mercedes engineering they let us down big time on the traction and design department. The C63AMG is a worldwide shame as far is engineering. I don't know of any car in the world with 450hp plus running skinny a$S bycicle tires in the back.
The engineers did not leave much room to fit larger tires or larger rims either. At least the CLS start with 285 tires.
Like I said over and over, you can go and blame the pathetic job that Mercedes engineers did with the C63 amg. Just about any car owner in the world can easily and hassle free install a set of fat rims with fat tires, we can't.
