Fog lights on - then off!
So my wife was driving the beast (C63) this morning and I was in front of her admiring her beauty through the rearview mirror of my pickup truck.
I noticed the right fog light wasn’t working but the left one was on. I glanced in front of me then back at the beast and both fog lights were now off.
Thought she was playing a joke on me a messing with the fog lights or trying to get them to turn. After a quick call the lights were in the “auto” mode and the fog lights weren’t switched on at all.
Thought for sure I was going to have to go in for service. Thinking to myself the darn fog lights are already not working…..
A few minutes later and a mile or two down the road I looked back again and noticed that this time the frking left fog light wasn’t working but the right one was. And then just like that, they were both off again.
WTF?

Come to find out after a few tests apparently when you select to use a turn signal the corresponding fog light also turns on for about 5 seconds.
I assume some type of safety feature.....
According to the MBUSA website they are "Designed to enhance visibility for making slow, tight turns in the dark, the corner-illuminating foglamps shine toward the inside of the turn. Turning the steering wheel or using the turn-signal indicators at low speeds activates this function, which is particularly useful in parking structures, suburban neighborhoods or when turning into driveways."

?I was thinking I should have checked to see if the expensive bulbs were working before taking delivery - but hopefully the dealership would replace it given how short a life it had. I had my story all prepapared in the event that they did not.... "I will rethink the dealerhip I will buy from next, others will too once I tell them"
Turns out it is a feature when turning (as others above pointed out). I would have been upset about a wasted drive the the dealership if I had not been driving a C63 on a sunny day with little traffic
