Any experience with the Continental ContiSportContact 3? Those come standard on the 2010 M3 if PS2 is not available.

2009 C63 with Eurocharged tune and charcoal delete

I just put on Sumitomo HTRZIIIs and they feel pretty good. Anybody got any firsthand experience with these in terms of performance and wear??? I don't track, just mildly aggressive street driving. I do 2K miles per month and was looking for something cheaper and longer lasting than the Pirellis since it appears I will changing rear tires rather often.

Don't get me wrong, the PS2's ARE a good tire. There are just BETTER tires out there that cost half as much

And I do understand that not everyone goes to the track. I just rate my tires by the track, and of course by how long they last.

Sorry, I have no first hand knowledge of the conti's. Check out the W211 section as someone there posted about them, just can't remeber who.

I had re 050, or 070 stock on my '06 STi, can't remember which. But I will say that they had to be the stiffest sidewalls I've ever felt, although they were a good tire....

I just put some Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics to replace my rear tires at 8000 miles. I put on 265/35/18 and they work fine. I honestly can't tell any difference over the stock Pirellis; however, my car is more a daily driver than anything else.

For those considering the GS-D3's, what size are you looking at? I can't find them in 255 or 265/35/18.

ALMOST as good as a R type tire, however they do wear quick, aka 140 treadware.

As the old saying goes NO FREE LUNCH.

They are okay in the rain, however the GS-D3 is without question a better rain tire.

So your are the other C63 they were telling me about. Going to be there on Sunday. Mind sharing your lap time with those tires? Still experimenting with tires on that track.

Does it make the ride stiffer than with the PZeros? I find my ride too stiff already for city driving so perhaps I should not go with the RE050.

Yeah I've been digging for info off the TireRack webpage as well. Supposed to be a rather wet season here in LA this year so I might just go with the Goodyears. I think the stock P-Zeros are fine but could do with a little more comfort and a little less noise.

Kinda strange how they rate the Perrelli P zero as 4th???? If read through you'll see excellent where most needed, I don't think confort should be on top for this kind of a car unless you use it as a DD.

What We Liked: Excellent traction in both dry and wet conditions

The ride will be as stiff or more so than stock. When I had them swapped out on my STi, they had a hard time getting them off the rim due to the stiff sidewalls.

The STi has 070 and is a totally different tire than the 050. I had an STi and it was much stiffer than the 050 I have on the 335i. The 335 has 18s and the STi was 17s.

If this test is correct, PZeros are not bad at all for the thrill this car can give. My other takeaway is that the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric seems to be good at almost everything and the best overall. Finally, the RE050 were nt part of this test and could have change the picking order.

Would be interesting to compare these conclusions to real life experience of others.
