This has to be the epitome of small ***** syndrome, I have heard it all now.

"what should I drive, my car does not get enough looks/attention", cough hard and maybe, just maybe your ***** will drop. That's a big maybe

Quote: Sorry pal, but it's not about carjackers here in Malibu. The fact is everybody drives nice cars here and they are a helluva lot better than AMGs or Corvettes. Nobody cares.

Own a car to drive for yourself and not to boost your ego.......
nice cars are rare here, unlike Malibu. if i didn't want the ego boost i would drive a camery hybrid. i want my car to be noticed and admired. but im finding out this is not the car for that. so i'll keep it because i love to drive it and it holds four people. and eventually i'll get the corvette "to be noticed"

you know what, for all the faults the OP has, and for him to make a post like this we can certainly point them out...you gotta give the dude credit. He feels the way he feels, and hes not afraid to look completely superficial insecure while saying it. Honestly, that says he really isnt insecure to need a car to make him feel better about himself, because he freely admits it.

Its the guy who buys the $70k car and suffers in silence thats insecure.

Just saying. Man this thread is a sociological enigma. I dig it.

Did you ever get that pickup you were after? The new 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 looks great, that 6.7L Cummins is a beast....

Yeah, it's fun.

I get more looks at partial throttle (@ WOT it sounds like I'm releasing Cerberus from captivity) just because they can't believe a sedan can sound like that...

(PS I NEVER do partial or WOT in my neighborhood...the home owner association ***** are everywhere!)

No I haven't pulled the trigger yet...I keep having a "family discussion" with my wife...I wanted to get the 2500 but she wanted me to get a Tahoe. Now with my chocolate lab, I've had to rethink my priorities and I'm leaning towards getting a white Tahoe LTZ or their Hybrid version.

Ha, I've had a few of those over the years.

You can get 3/4ton Suburban/Yukon XL but sadly no diesel. I'm not sure about the hybrid Tahoe/Yukon... it's okay for town but no mileage improvements in a highway environment and costs quite a premium.

I do agree that Chevy/GMC makes the best all-round pickup truck. Unfortunately for me I have to tow heavy almost every day so need the 450s weight rating which is a laborious process given the Powerstroke is inferior to both the Cummins and Duramax...

Quote: I get zero interest in my C63. i thing it's because these back woods hicks don't know what it is. I would trade for a Z01 corvette but i need the people space of my 63. does anyone else have this problem?

I don't see how a 1988 35th Anniv white 'Vette will solve your problem?

But, maybe some racing stripes on your C63 would help!

Then you must be talking about the ZR1. The Caddy CTS-V has a version of it's LS9 (it has the LSA); but it's still fairly stealthy like the C63.

You gotta understand, though, lots of times people oogle your car; but never say anything or let on about it because they figure you know what you've got and don't want to appear to want it.

Either way, though...how about an Aston Martin Rapide or Porsche Panamera?

Appreciate your second paragraph and think you are right. but going to stick to the plan to get either the Z06 or more likely the ZR1 depending on funds at the time. Chevy loves me I paid off a 4 year loan in three months. Keeping the C63 because i love it and i think your right about it. You are a smart man.

For much less $$ than the 'Vette ZR1, you should go take a look at a new Nissan GT-R!!! It handles just as well, it's just as fast, and it has a small backseat...runs 0-60mph in 3.5 sec. and 1/4 mi. in 11.7 sec. @ 120mph...stock; custom tuned with the $1,495 Cobb AccessPort, it will run 10.9 sec. @ 125+mph (yes, my buddy just got his '10 GT-R tuned and ran this fast at PBIR)!!!!! I think that should get you plenty of attention, especially in the backwoods of AL.

Hmm...the GTR, not exactly the turn heads car he's looking for. Looks like a next generation G37 to me. Besides, who can tolerate that "Inspired by Hoover" front fascia??? Also, the GTR is geared pretty short...past 130 ish it will lose to even Z06.

Stock the ZR1 runs 11.05-11.25 with a good driver and reasonably good DA; but still, mid 11's EASY! That's with a 1.79-1.9x 60'...imagine if you could get it to stick!

I do run past 130ish so that is a consideration for me. i think i can soup up the z06 to run faster than the ZR1. " thoughts?
