I did what you said. I opened up the panel between the glove box and the door. I found the aux input and plugged in a male-male aux cable. I have the iPod kit but not MM. How do I tell the system to play using the aux instead of iPod kit? My odometer says no iPod. Please help!

Exactly, my ipod works fine, i can control everything from my steering wheel and also see the songs name on the display. I like my ipod integration. But being honest, i didnt like it initially, but then i didnt know that by pressing the call cancel button on the wheels i can have a lot of options.

About to purchase an '08 C63 AMG. It has the multimedia package, but does not have the iPod or Aux inputs. Should this car have the aux input in the side panel? I am not local to the car, but when I go to do a final pass over the car, I'm sure he won't let me crack open the side panel.
If it does have the AUX input, how would I get it to show up on the menu screen?
Thanks all!

ps. excited to own a MB after a decade with BMW!

So here are some pics. It looks like there are 3 scenarios:
1) No iPod - Aux input in the glove compartment
2) Yes iPod - Only iPod connector in the glove compartment (my pics)
3) Yes iPod - both iPod and Aux input in the glove compartment (iatacs19's pics)
I kinda like the idea of not having to access the glove compartment in order to plug in music.

Either way though, thank you for posting pictures. They gave me the needed motivation / confidence to pull the panel off.
Thanks!

What is the answer to this?
I found mine, and plan on using it for bluetooth streaming. Question is how do I switch the radio over to use the AUX versus IPOD when selecting "Aux" from the radio menu? Does it listen to both?

Get a Blackberry Stereo gateway. Works with any phone. Powered by glovebox lighter. Male to male cord to aux input. Bluetooth connect from your iphone, stream music to it. Boom. Bluetooth wireless music streaming. Look ma! No cords!
Music streaming is a different bluetooth profile than the one used for phone conversation. Ergo, your phone CAN be connected to your car and the gateway at the same time. When your phone rings, the music turns down and when you answer it is off entirely and you speak hands free. You hang up and the music returns.
Yes. It works. Been using that for over a year now. Hop in your car and your phone pairs with both automatically and there are no dangling cords.

From the audio menu, try clicking the COMAND knob upward to highlight the "audio" word. Click it in to select and it should bring you to a list where you should be able to scroll down to "aux." This is how I can alternatively do it, but I have the MM pkg so I'm not 100% sure. I also found that if I do not have any discs in the CD player, pressing the "disc" button on the radio console actually defaults to "aux."
Hope one of those works.

09 C63...
Trying to figure out why my car doesn't have the Ipod connector or even an Aux connection...
Maybe its hidden somewhere else?
Also there is some sort of a port on the roof of the glovebox which doesnt look like an ipod connection.

You will have to read and search through some of these ipod/aux threads but I think the aux connector in the 09 is behind the glove box. You might have to take the glove box out to get to it.

So you don't see any type of jack in your glovebox?
Take a picture of inside the glovebox aimed towards the side the power outlet and post it
