The point of this car is to be a technological whiteboard for Toyota. Essentially a way to show off their technical abilities. No, it's not the fastest, no it's not "track bred", but it probably will be one of the most balanced cars ever made. The things that Toyota has done to get this car our is quite amazing. And yes, each one will be sold at a loss, even with the $400k price tag.

While true it has been used as a race car, (and Toyota will make a track version), when I say it's not "track bred" I mean it's not something like the Ferrari FXX or Maserati MC12. It's not a race car that has been converted to be street legal. It was built as a street legal road car, then modified for track use.Originally Posted by SebringSilver

You can actually custom make the LFA on the lexus website with colors and interiors.
http://www.lexus.com/LFA/
Deliveries will begin in early 2011 and continue for approximately 24 months. That sounds like what Honda wanted to do when the S2000 first came out and then sales were good with that car and they continued to make it. No price on the LFA.

While Lexus has a very loyal following (and deservedly so), lets be honest -- you don't see a lot of those guys at the track. At the chiropractor's office, yes. At the Del Boca Vista club house for shuffle board, yes. At Skip Barber -- not so much.
Going from the LS (a sofa with wheels) to the LFA is too much of a leap for their current customers -- and people who are not their current customers will have the same reaction: "WTF? You want how much for a Toyota?"
I don't know what the national sales figures for the IS-F are, but I have seen exactly 1 IS-F around town and the guy driving it looked to be about 70 years old.
1 IS-F in Buckhead, Atlanta. I am not saying Buckhead is Bevely Hills, but you can't step off the curb without being run over by a Bentley or a Lambo. Valets around here park 911's and AMG's in the back. If Lexus can't sell any more IS-F's than that, they will not sell the LFA.
The LFA reminds me of the NS-X -- a very competent car that was well-liked by the automotive press, but a bit underpowered and never really took off with the public.

Only that the NSX costed little over 1/3 of this LFA thing. NSX's design was also way way ahead of times. This though ......Originally Posted by ATL_MB

it's NSX without a "-"and NSX is one of the most sought after sports car spamming 15 years in it's production.
may not have took off in your eye, but to 99% of the public even Honda haters will tell you the opposite.

Although I love German engineering, I would be retarded not to appreciate the engineering technology Lexus has been into this beast. Can you imagine this as a daily driver.. whoa!!
My only concern is the price-point. For 300K, man there are way too many hotter cars on the market.
For the NSX comment, go to www.nsxprime.com and check out what a mint condition 2004-2005 costs. Still goes for $70K. unreal car.
