DIY: carbon fiber diffuser install

See, I have a 2013 with the different rear bumper, so the diffuser attaches differently. I don't have any place to attach the factory braces to, so I'm curious what people did.

I took my bumper off to install my diffuser. For it to look good it took a lot of massaging. Then I put screws through tabs in rear to hold in place. For me the braces arnt really needed however I kept them installed because I think it gives it rigidity when you press on it. The part that your talking about for screws. You can either drill holes or double sided tape it to it like I did. It's solid not going anywhere.

Are these aftermarket CF diffusers coming with the mounting attachments to reinstall the two OE plastic brackets? I can see there are the two holes on the bottom, but is there a mounting point in the middle for the second rivet attachment? I guess I'll know tomorrow when mine arrives. I can't see how you can forego using the bracket because doesn't it throw off the alignment between the hole on the bottom of diffuser and the speed nut attachment on the body?

I did JB Speed and was happy with it. It came with the bendy tabs. I was able to get mine good enough for my preferences without pulling bumper. I did, however, go to hardware store and bought some simple nylon spacers to keep the two lower mounts taught since there's no factory bracket down there and I wanted to keep my factory piece unmolested.

The JLMotoring diffuser has the bendy tabs. It was helpful to have my son do the bending from the back while I ensured it was lined up.
Also, for anyone doing this you need a REALLY deep socket for that recessed nut in the trunk.
