What gear for dyno test
I've read some confusing info on this forum and others regarding proper dyno test for C63. Are the best numbers in 4th gear or 5th? I know the speed limiter will kick in around 6000rpm (155mph) in 5th gear, but since its the 1:1 drive ratio isn't it the best one to use? How much lower would horsepower be if you used 4th gear? Seems like folks use 4th gear so they can take it all the way to redline but if it's not 1:1 then it won't be accurate, right?

I dyno's my stock C63 in 4th gear and in 5th to see what the difference was.
Both numbers were very similar and within 3-5 hp/tq.
My Dyno run was 361rwhp and 361rwtq.
Just dyno in the same gear eachtime you run and you will be fine..
I called 3 MB dealers and they all told me the same thing - 5th is the 1:1
