I'm not sure about the head turning factor of a GT500 here in Tucson. There are SO SO many Mustangs around here that I am desensitized to them. True that there are lots of aftermarket mods available, and most it seems have been modded and sound and look very similar.
I personally like the fact that there are only (I believe) 3 C63s in the Tucson area I think and when people hear and see it, they know it is something different.
As far as interior, I think the GT500 looks nice and I would not say that it looks cheap. I'm sure there are weight trade-offs that are made with some of the heavier materials. As someone else said, the cost of the materials is a different story, and in my book if it looks good, is functional and will hold up and not rattle - I'm good.

I officialy passed on the GT500 i drove up to the dealer 75 miles with my c63 it was a hell of a ride my brother has a 09 srt8 jeep with 520 whp demon package both cars are just as fast hehe (had some fun going up to the ford dealer) and i got in the gt500 when i got up there it was great but i was not impressed with the speed of the car plus it didnt have navigation and they only gave me 49 grand on a trade in (7200 miles on the c ) .. i took a second to look at both cars and decided to stick with the AMG .. this car is in the class of its own.. we had rs4 new m3's and i think power wise this amg is just a beast.. Just like someone mentioned here im probably just going to put a few mods on it and stick with it for some time ... i hope im making the right choice the fun factor is still there on the amg for another few months lets hope..
thank you guys for helpin me decide

Almost bought one before the 63, but bailed on it because the dealers wouldn't budge on price and I refused to pay list. So here I am in a 63. Frankly am glad. The quality of the benz is night and day. I had a Mustang GT when they first came out in the new body style and the underpinnings didn't change any so I can say I have experience here. It handles great in a line, but the rest is crap.
That all aside, I now have around 506 HP to the Ford's 540 and that's just with a tune. Pretty soon it will be right there and the 63 has 4 doors, can easily take 5 people and has everyone whispering when it goes by as they cover their kids eyes.
Run away unless the dealer is bending over for you.

All my life I hated Ford for its cheap plastic interior but you have to go to a dealer and sit on a 2010 Mustang, it is a whole different league, the interior finally looks well done with much better quality materials.
As per the car, the 2010 offers now 540hp out of the box but if you tell that to a 2008 Shleby GT500 KR edition owner you might get a full sucker punch. The history behind this is that the regular 2008 Shelby GT500 was rated a 500hp and the KR edition was 540hp but cost $80000. Now you can get a Shelby GT500 for high 40's.
I personally love the looks of the Shelby GT500.

The Ford GT500 is surely a fast car and has lots of modding potential, but let's face it...apples to oranges comparison here. IMHO, the Ford Mustang (no matter the power package or special mods) is a fast POS, just like so many other fast cars on the road today; it's nothing more than a kid's car. The Ford will never be a MB, and as someone else mentioned, I wouldn't spend > $50k on a Ford. I say if you're bored of the C63 AMG, then save your money and get Nissan GT-R!!!!

Is this a serious thread? How do you even compare a Ford(doesn't matter which) to a Mercedes Benz (dont matter which) much less an AMG.

Dude that interior looks like absolute GARBAGE. Same old **** - lets just throw a color screen on the dash, add some glow gauges and people will LOVE IT! Sharp angles, ugly complicated buttons, looks like a mix between cardboard and plastic - that cockpit view is brutal, looks like something you get at a rental car place plus a screen.

I had a '99cobra, I loved it (still miss the electric green best color ever made)....Traded it for the C63. I seriously thought about a GT500 it was a pretty close call. The first time I heard the C63 motor start-up I was done, my mind was made up. The C63 in a ax-murderer in a tux

if ur going to pay $50k+ for a mustang, why not buy the ROUSH 540RH?
the handling is better than the gt500. it has the same 540 hp. and its lighter

IM not an expert on these cars, but i dont know if any new major changed have been made to the gt500 recently.
I DO know that the new mustang Gt has 400 hp and i think runs low 12s.
Considering the price difference, id think the new MeUSTANG GT is a better bang for buck. Also look into if they are changing th engine in the GT500 in the next 1 to 3 years. If that is the case, id get a GT for now.
my opinion tho

I raced the 2011 Shelby GT500 Canadian Press Car (the car that all the mags drive and review)
Supposedly it had a "tune" on it too....
Ran it three times and had 3 cars on it everytime....
The 2011 has serious improvements on it including brakes and suspension
But once you get it, just run out and get the Kenne Bell 3.2 blower for it and no one will be able to pull beside....
check out the clip from Battle of the Supercars....
It ran 191 MPH in the Texas Mile!!!!

I own and drive both. To seriously compare these two cars is silly. They are COMPLETELY different cars bought for COMPLETELY different purposes. It's like comparing a hammer and a screwdriver. There are some basic similarities, but one is the ideal tool for a nail, and the other is an ideal tool for a screw.
For me, the C63 is an ideal daily driver--the perfect blend of performance and luxury. The GT500 is pure American muscle. It is wicked fast, very easy and inexpensive to mod (unlike Mercedes), and fun. By the way, to say that a GT500 is >$50K is misleading. They can easily be had for more like $45,000.
Regarding the interiors, yes, the C63 interior is much nicer, in a different class than the GT500, but here's a news flash: NO ONE buys a GT500 for the interior. That's like saying that a Jeep is better in the snow than a Corvette. Well, no sh*t.

Interior of my Viper was pretty poor, but I did not care because I bought it for other reasons. I like the mustang, but would give the nod to the vette for my money.

I've been sitting here reading this thread for a few days now, and I hear all this drama about which car is better, blah, blah blah. Having own a GT and a Cobra in the past, these cars have very distinct differences and can't be compared to a C63. Now that I own two AMGs, I'm always compare them to one another. So you can sit their and argue amongst yourselves about which is better, but they are different. Except the differences, and just be civilized.

We looked at the picture posted, concurred that it looks like **** (in my opinion, everyone is entitled) and respectfully disagreed. No one is high and mighty...besides maybe you with your passive aggressive post.

There are a lot of ignorant comments coming out from some people here haha...Honestly...Ford has stepped up their game quite a bit as of late...hell...the C63 might have nicer leather, but look at our door pins...there are pros and cons to each car, but the Ford is by no means a cheap piece of crap IMHO.
