RE: C-Class Production in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
I am pleased to be able to tell you that the Daimler Board of Management has just announced that the next-generation C-Class will be built here in the U.S. at our Tuscaloosa plant beginning in 2014.
I am sure you will agree that this clearly demonstrates the long-term commitment of Daimler to the U.S. market and the increasingly important role we will play in the future growth and competitive stance of the Daimler organization.
Additional details are in the attached press release announcing the decision and we will keep you informed as we move forward.
Best regards,
Ernst Lieb

I hope the first two model years will not be as bad as my old '99 ML320. I had $14.5k of warranty claims in six years of ownership. Good thing I bought the extended warranty.
