I don't know what's happening to this world! Factory SUV's beating performance sedans and coupes off the line! That was unheard of a few years ago!
Now here we are trying to justify that our performance sedans are faster top end bla bla bla... NO S.H.I.T SHERLOCK!!!!!
We should be ashamed of ourselves! LOL

If a car crosses the finish line doing 110 mph and the other crosses the line doing 114 what's faster if both cars had great traction?

Yes, but I'm talking about ET's here.
So many factors determine acceleration.. let's assume both cars had perfect traction off the line... it is so obvious that the accerlation curve of the SUV is much more consistent than the sedan.
The sedan may have a better trap speed, but the torque build up may have come too late into the 1/4 mile stretch. You know what I mean?
Regardless of take off or surface condition, I am pretty much sure that SUV would cross the 1/4 mile line before us all, and I think that's mainly due to the fact that it builds up torque and puts it ot the ground far more linearly than our cars so.
Please correct me if I'm wrong guys...

Obviously there are a few SUVs with monster torque and HP that will come close to our cars straight line (Cayenne Turbo S, X5M, X6M). Get over it.

Stock for stock it will be a drivers race. I do not believe the C63 in the you tube gave it its best...
They cost twice at least 50% so this leaves us with enough money to tune our cars.
Let the wars begin. It's all fun.

I think I know why the C63 was behind the X6M, it couldnt stand being so close to such an ugly looking thing! ![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
Seriously though I too get more consistent 1/4 mile runs on the ML than on the C

No it won't. It will consistently run low to mid 4s all day long.

Stock-stock or modded-modded whatever the price is the rules generally abided by in this forum. And anyway, you don't want to see what HP gains that will be had from the 4.4TT compared to the 6.2 dollar-dollar.
I LOVE the new X5 M (much prefer styling and usefulness of X5 vs X6) and will be picking one up over the next year or two. It will own nearly all RWD cars from the lights but of course the freeway is a different matter.

Are those very same features available on the X5M?

If not that was even better than LC!

Transferred: I do not get your attack. I was not bashing the X6M, just stating a simple fact that there was a substantial price difference. I do not believe people will cross shop the 2 vehicles.
Just like wuyichao, they may decide to own both and congratulations to them.
Regarding your comment about modding the cars, please rest assured for a similar amount spent (let's say 100K), the C63 will easily beat an X6M as this will leave about 45K to spend versus $11K for the X6M (using the base MSRP of each car: 55K C63, 89K X6M)

The "he" in question was me. That was just powerbraking the thing and letting it rip. And I have run repeated tests and it will run mid 4s without using two feet.

In what world are you living? Money does make a difference. If it did not, everyone would have an LP640 or a Cayenne Gemballa Turbo S...
I respect the X6M but when most people shop for a vehicle, they look at similar priced vehicle (it may be different kind of vehicles i.e. SUV versus 2 door coupe).
You are the one who started to talk about modding the X6M therefore it makes sense that I would take the price of the car in consideration.
This is obviously going nowhere. Enjoy your 2.5 ton SUV and I will enjoy my C63. Peace.

I agree on styling - much prefer the 5 to the 6... JMHO.
