Just a heads up for anyone wondering what it would be like to drive your car on a road course. Weekend DE's are held around the country and are a great way to get a taste of the track. Myself, Keith(DadsC63) and several of our friends with interesting cars will be at the Florida Crown PCA event at Roebling Road on Jan 23,24 and it would be great if some more members brought their AMG's.

Register at clubregistration.net

Cost is $195 includes 8 sessions with an instructor.

Run groups go from green to black based on experience

While this is technically not "racing", you will be pushing your car around the track as fast as your skills allow you, in and around other drivers. This track features mostly sweeping turns and favors high horsepower rides

You will not put any serious wear on your tires or brakes unless you already have the skills to drive near the limit.

Most of the track is surrounded by wide grassy areas to catch anyone who spins off the track.

We had an absolute blast the first time out and I am now hooked. I promise you will not go away disapointed.

The track video thread contains several in - car cam clips that provide a first hand look.

The hotels off I-95 near the track are nearly new and dirt cheap. Wives spend Saturday in Savannah and Sunday at the track. Win Win

Less than a month away, 129 cars registered at this point including:

17 BMW's
6 GTR's
3 Ferrari's
A crap load of Porsche's ( it is a PCA event)

And ONE solitary Mercedes! (Dad'sC63 might make it if schedule permits)

I do a lot of DEs with the PCA in my Porsche. Highly recommended! Great way to hone your skills and keep the practice up. I wish the MBCA would get as good as the PCA does with DEs and AX, etc.. The MBCA is pretty lame in that department.

p.s., just a head's up and be careful and check with your insurance company. Most companies don't cover anything while out on the track.

I drive to and from work everyday on the old road courses........

Try this link for some fun: http://www.ocracecraft.com/

My son and I went last month for the initial training in our AMGs. He placed such fast lap times in his modified C32 as a novice, they invited him back for another half day of track time this month. At 17, I never was doing that.

I agree...If you have done any suspension work to your C you should eat the M3s for breakfast.

Dark side event coming up on May 1,2. Much more fun overall than the PCA bunch and THREE passing zones!
