Which headers are better?????

Looking at either shortie headers by kleemann or longtube headers by evosport. Which is better? What's the difference with power gain? I also use my car as an everyday driver. Do you get as much power with shortie as you do with LT?

Short tube gives you better performance at lower speeds, while long tubes gives you better top end performance. Simple.

Typically shorties won't make as much power as LTs. I've never seen a dyno of evosport's LT, so can't comment on the expected gains.

Keep in mind, most any header "requires" a corresponding tune to get the most out of it. In evosport's pricing guide (stickied above), their LT headers ($6k) + the evo/PC tune developed for them ($3k) would cost you 9 grand. Kleemann's shorty header + tune is 4 grand. So it's a pretty significant pricing difference - but there's likely a performance difference; you'd just have to decide if the additional gains are worth paying an extra $5k, which is over 2x as much - and which is a very unique decision to make. Best of luck with your upcoming mods!

I believe the MHP L/T headers are the highest quality and produce the most power. You should check out the pics on this other thread. If you are a serious racer or want the most power you won't bother with the shorties. Trust HHuges1 and myself, we both bought shorties and then went with L/T's. Call MHP direct for special pricing. Good luck!

This dyno sheet is my car with Kleemann shorties one day and the MHP long tubes the next. The increase in hp and torque is spread across the entire powerband and is way beyond a minor improvement. What is also interesting is how the a/f is slightly richer with the LT's leaving even more room for more aggressive timing.

Those are some nice gains with the LT. How's the noise inside the cabin with the LTs? I also have the kleemann tune. So the kleemann tune worked with the LT right?

Long tube headers without cats reflect more power on the graph than shorties with cats. That is what we would all expect.

Evosport isn't an advocate of placing a short tube header on the C63 AMG since there is minimal power gain to be achieved. I would not thumb down an Evosport LT header installation.

Where? What Evo dyno sheets?

The point is, long tube headers produce the bigger ponies.

So much money for LT! Lol. I really wonder how hard it is to make headers for a car. Will the price of LT ever go down?

Track results speak for themselves: drove both MHP LT cars to new records today.

No other C63's listed on drag times are near those trap speeds.

Thanks Andy

Headers are part of the equation. It's not the end of ends, but certainly a plus for MHP products. Congrats!
