talked my kid into a 135I

Sure it doesn't come close to my C63, But it's a quick little car which i think he will be very happy with. and the price is not too bad.

Those are really peppy little cars. With a chip, they're ballistic.

Its a great car, I was able to dog out a fully race prepped e90 M3 on a road course with Jerry's car. Big band in a small package. Let us know if more power is needed.

Great choice, chipped 135i/335i are amazing and you can easily add a significant amount of HP for a low price.

You all are recommending chipping for more hp? He just said the kid totaled 4 cars already.Sounds like he needs driving lessons, better luck or an old beater (not a new BMW).
Just my thoughts.

I cringe thinking how high the kid's insurance policy could be.

C63 AMG, BMW 135i

I have one I use as a shopping trolley and find it great around the city, quick through traffic and easy to park. With no mods it doesn’t display the power of the C63 or the road presence and even though it’s stock, it isn’t slow by any means and it really does come into it’s own on the twisty bits. I recently took it for a run up in the mountains and a few weeks after took the C on the same stretch of road. The 135i’s feel through the bends seriously outclassed the Merc. They are a great buy and even more if you intend to spend money on them. Still if I had to make a choice between only owning one, the Merc would win hands down, it has a lot more to offer in many other ways. Good luck on your purchase.

Yep, you can't go wrong with the 1er.
I'm still looking to run a C63 to see how I'd fair.

In my humble opinion, you should get him a motorcycle to compliment his 135i.

What I like!
The 135i and C63 make nice stablemates. Pick it up at the Welt in Munich, go take the AMG factory tour in Affalterbach and drive the Stelvio Pass

My 135i has BMW's Performance Power kit & Exhaust installed, but it's still not as fast as my stock C63. It's a great small car though and I love driving it. Nice to have a manual transmission too!

BTW If he's totalled 4 cars, maybe it's time to take the bus. "Without punishment, crime will persist...... "

Who's buying the car again???

If you're buying the car, I would get him a 128 at best if you insist in rewarding him for totalling 4 cars!!

I had a 535I with JB3 and the car is a beast. Even without the JB3, the car is fast. A 135I stock does 0-60mph in about 5 secs (+- .2 secs). It may not be my current E63, but it's fast enough.

He might very well be a "GOOD KID" (at 20??), but rewarding him for nearly killing himself 4 times is like adding fuel to the fire...how hot do you want it?

If it were my "20 year old KID" with that "flawless" driving record, I'd get him something several levels down from a 135I just to keep him around a few more years until there's demonstrated driving maturity.

Good Luck!!

I don't understand the purpose of this thread. If he hasn't died with him wrecking his previous four cars, you're going to buy him another car so he can kill himself?

I agree with sandman. I would not buy this kid a 135i. You are asking for trouble.
But you do what you want, it is your $$ and your kid.

if i totaled 4 cars (which cant happen because if i even totaled 1 car my parents would kill me) and managed to survive i dont think id be around anymore after the beating from my parents. Even though im only 18, i dont think id even let myself get a car like that (or any car at all) just because id be dead pretty soon after and will realize that i am just not capable of driving. take that money and get some driving lessons for him, thats what ive done and there are only good things to come from it. if you really want him to learn then do what ive done, have him buy a cheap car (i got a 1985 pontiac firebird for $400) with his own money and have him work on it himself and pay for any repairs that result from his driving. hopefully this will teach him that daddy wont always be there to get him a new toy

This is fast car. My freind has one and he drives on the track in real race he can win to a lot of new M3 and e46 M3 also. But he said it is heavy car. Since its turbo it is easy to get power up.
