buy C63 or keep E55??
Hi guys, I'm new around here. I've had my E55 for about a year, no mods yet, but looking around here looks like you guys are having fun with the C63. I was considering going C63 (a little smaller package) with that badd-azz 63 motor, and now I see the new TT55's on the horizon, it might be time to get a collectors item in a 63. What do you guys think keep and mod my E55 or jump in on the C63??

Silver 2009 C63 AMG
If you do end up going with the C63 let me know. I have one I am looking to sell in the next few months. 9500 miles in a year and a half, Renntech ECU upgrade, 19" AMG 16 spoke wheels, BMP filters, and it still smells new. Have 75K invested, looking for 55K. Thanks!

I'd say you should wait for the '11 F/I tt AMG's...being that they will be F/I tt, they will be even more mod potential.
I bet they come stock with 550HP or more; then, with some ecu tuning and other mods, they could be well over 625HP with better gas mileage!

Hey jmaults, I'd like to get your 19" AMG wheels/tires. Would you consider a trade for my stock 18s, plus cash?

C63 AMG Arctic w/ Stage 1 Tune, DoubleXX pipe, MCD-631X coming soon
wow.. hard one. The C63 vs E55 in my opinion kind of splits a line. The C63 is more nimble vs the E55, and does have some great potential. The E55 however can get some quick HP by way of tuning, and pulley. I would say if you are okay with the smaller size car, C63 would be my choice based on what your base criteria is.

There are obvious pros and cons, but I personally like the C63 way more than the E55. I have had both and definitely lean towards the C63...it's a blast in so many ways!

If you have not driven the C63, you need to do yourself a favor and go a test drive. Then that should help in the decision.
Other questions that I have are as follows:
Is the E55 still under warranty? if not, repairs can get expensive.
Do you have kids and do you need backseats. The C is quite smaller.
The new TT55 would be in till late 2010 at best (here's the quote "Weber says the new engine could appear on cars in the fourth quarter of 2010 following an official reveal at September's Paris Motor Show". I would not want to be the owner of the first batches of car so you will have to be patient if you want the new 55.
There is nothing wrong with driving an e55 anyway so it's really up to you
