Just fitted an X pipe
so i got the pacemakers ones fitted, http://www.pacemaker.com.au/exhaust_merge.html. only driven around 20kms, things noticed, a lot quieter, car sounds more crisp - doesnt sound like a tractor, seems to rev a little different and more responsive. will have figures hopefully by next wed. (i have my 2nd cats deleted, the x pipe is fitted were they would be located, i also have a tune and bmc filters. its going for a dyno run next week, will post results)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the X pipe replace the resonator?
Since the OEM resonator is "sort of" an X pipe doesn't that mean that you will have two of them, maybe that is why it is quite? However, as I already said I might be wrong.

Not neccessarily (sp?). For example, GT PRO's X-pipe kit replaces the secondary cats.

well the pacemaker x pipe made me go 2 tenths slower and down 2 mile an hour so out with that and in with the new magnaflow tru x flow style x pipe next week.

change in temp and track conditions? I don't think an x-pipe would negatively or positively affect performance that much. 2 tenths and 2mph?

Also, what device are you using for measuring the speed/time?, are you drag racing it?

That is the results so far. This was tested at my local drag strip were i have been going to for years. There could be a few explanations as to why i went slower but i do not know yet, until the next few days.

C63 AMG Arctic w/ Stage 1 Tune, DoubleXX pipe, MCD-631X coming soon
This is a tough situation, and many people here do not realize that this is why our "Single X" product costs a bit more. Design..Our product is specifically designed for the C63, nothing else, it gives a great boost in power (shown on the dyno, and independent acceleration tests by customers), and gives a great sound to boot!

This is not an X-pipe its a crossover pipe (completely different). In order to get any gains it has to be a true X-pipe crossover otherwise you won't really see any legit gains.
Magnaflow makes them and now there are a bunch of polished stainless X-pipes on ebay for $30-60 shipped, hope that helps.

I have this tune also and am very pleased with it.
All you aussie guys have to do is airbag your ecu to james at bps
and you will get it back within a few days. Huge difference.

RSN-111,
I did some calculations and you made like 33-35lb-tq(to the wheels) and no less than 9whp(up to about 13whp) with the all cat removal and x pipe. I am impressed with the torque. This tells me that this engine can squeeze tons of power and torque just on exhaust mods alone(headers, cat removal, bigger diameter piping, cat backs)

thanks maverick, i stuck with the factory 2.5in diameter aswell. overall i think the tune, x pipe and removal of front cats have all played a role in the significant torque gain i have down low and mid range. The car is alot smoother to drive now and revs alot cleaner and quicker too. You can definately notice the difference.
This will all stay until i get my headers and new exhaust in a few months.
