Thinking about getting the Verde Axis, but apparently the valve stems hit the brake calipers. I'm assuming I have a little room to go out further in the front (please correct me if I'm wrong). Do you think running a little spacer would help in that regard?
It may. However i'm not familiar with the wheels though. Would have to see where the valve stems are actually located, and where it's actually hitting the caliper.
You could probably do with a 5MM spacer and be ok, any more, and you're getting close to rubbing depending on what tire brand and tire size you use.
Just to double check: Is this set-up appropriate? About to order summer tyres for my HRE's:
Wheels:
P44SC
Rear: 10J x 19 ET50
Front: 8.5J x 19 ET40
Tyre plans:
Rear: 275/30/19
Front 245/35/19
Planning on dropping the car with H&R springs soon, but not immediately since we might get some snow still.
that's absolutely perfect. You could event go 19x9 in front, but the configuration you reference is exactly what I had with my Velos Designwerks wheels and they were great.

I'm running 19x9 +40 & 19x10 +50 w/ 245 & 275 on both my HRE P40SC & HRE P43SC.. Lowered on H&R springs, no problem at all.. So ur 19x8.5 +40 with 245 will work fine.
Here's some super duper high quality cell phone pics of my 19" Niche Misano M117s. I ordered from NeedForSpeed and Tiko was the man, he really hooked me up. Tires are Delinte D7s, 245 front 275 rear. I cheaped out on tires because I was stretching the budget as is, but I'll end up putting something a bit nicer on down the road. Overall I'm very happy with how they look.
Before
Might as well clean it
After
Still some dirt on the caliper but it gets dirty quick anyways.
