You may want to have a look at this review of the RE-11 compared to the Direzzas if you haven't already.

Also let's add the Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08 as an option, all the reviews are great and they placed closely second (at a 0.01 difference so I consider it a draw).

If you look at the spider charts, the RE-11s are almost always better than the Direzzas. In the wet, they seem to be the best of all but on a dry track, the Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 seems to be quite impressive. Any real life experience with the Yokohama to share anybody?

Neova ADO8 is more for track use. But still good in wet also. Its great on the track for sure. But for life its not good.

Has anyone tough of puting some michelin sport cup tires in their C63?
I tired of having the back wheel spin even at part throttle.
Since they put these tires on porsche gt3 and gt2 I guess you can use them on the street even when wet.
Would they wear out even faster that the OE P zero in your opinion?

This tire is my best tire so I want to put it on my C63 but its too expensive for me. I bet it will be great to have it on C63.

I can give you an RE-11 review in 2 weeks...got 2 x 255/35R18's on order for the back...I wanted 275's, but RE-11's don't come in that size...they offered me pole positions instead...
Anyway, once I get them on, I let you know how they do...anything will be better than my balded PZeros...I swear those things will spin even before I hit the gas!

I must not be the only one
By the way, I just got back from Firestone...RE-011's come in 255/35R18's, but with 90W...Firestone has NO tires at 255 that will hold the load of the C63...they have 255-275/40's...but they said they wouldn't even try to put them, as they thought they would scrape the fender...
Guess it is back to Kuhmo's or BFGoodrich for me. Pirelli's are OUT!

Just an update from an earlier post. The Star Specs(rears) now have ~6,000 miles and six track days on them and they are ready to be replaced. Considering the oem's lasted only ~4,000 miles of pre-modded highway driving, I think the Dunlops were a good investment. At the most recent track weekend I had real issues with over steer; exiting corners under load(no LSD) and twice at turn in. The temps were cool for the South being in the low 50's with heavy cloud cover so it may have been a much cooler surface than I was used to. I am ordering new rears (this time in a 275 instead of the current 265's). By the time these wear out the fronts should be shot as well and when I need a complete new set I am leaning to the Re-11's. In the meantime if anyone gets a chance to track a set please give a recap.

I need to switch from winter to summer tires shortly (my rear Pzeros died last Fall). My driving is day-to-day style (although I would certainly like to try the track once or twice this year). What really thrills me is cornering more than anything else and the Pzeros were quite good at it - hard side walls and good grip. Do you think that the RE-11 would be a good choice for me in both dry and wet conditions or should I go with another pair of Pzeros? The RE-11 have a lower load than the Pzeros (SL instead of XL) and they are speed coded W instead of Y. Can it be an issue? No matter what, I'll go with 265 instead of 255 for sure. Thanks.

Still if you're not tracking the car much (1-2 times this summer), RE-11 will be an overkill... RE-11 are streetable but mostly made for people who track often and are tired of swapping tires every week.
I speak according to the reviews I read. I have RE-11s here but I'm getting them installed in about a month from now. I'm going for an ambitious 245/19/35 and 275/19/30 and possibly some fender rolling (lowered suspension).

I used Yoko Advan Neovas on my Mitsu Evo 8 and got at least 25,000 miles out of them per set. I love those tires. Good grip, stiff sidewalls and they did last a long time, for me. My miles were pretty much all freeway but Neovas will allow you to turn R-compound times on a tire that is usually classified as "street" Less noisy as they wore than the Nitto NT-05s I have on the rear of my C63 now. I don't track my C63 so no more NT-05s... the noise is pretty bad. I like noise, but from the exhaust!

Guys, I have a question on tire fitment for the Beast. The OEM spec. calls for XL - Extra Load Range, but I notice when you look at various tires like the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec and the Potenza RE-11's they do not carry an XL rating. Does anyone know if the XL load range is absolutely a requirement or is it ok to just ignor that. Would appreciate some feedback on this as it has me stumped right now.

I still have an issue with the need for the XL Load Rating. Neither the RE 11's or the Star Specs carry the XL Load Rating for both front and rear, which according to the factory specs is the requirement for W204. But seems like everyone on here is running these tires, so is everyone running Non XL's or am I just stupid ?

Silly question, how would these last for daily non-crazy driving (wife's car) in comparison with the stockers. My stockers lasted only 9000KM but I wouldn't mind trying something good if it's about the same wear or better.
Also, for people running the bigger 19", do you have rubbing issues (I have stock Perf Pkg suspension).
Thx,
-Hedge

They don't say XL, but their load rating is 95. http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...c&pc=265026922
When I look at the stock Pirelli's they show the XL, but their load rating is 94. http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...ero&pc=1800400
So, from what I gather it doesn't say XL but it has a higher load rating so there should be no issue. http://www.1010tires.com/tech.asp?ty...al#loadratings

Barry, Are these going to see track and street duty? I'm looking to convert my OE wheels to track only use and am going to run R-Compound tires. Just curious if any othe C63 track junkies are running dedicated setups.

Yes. After running dedicated wheels and tires last season I am going to try running the RE-11's as a dual duty (street/track) setup. At least to start. I have my Stock 18" wheels at the ready and will install a set of Toyo R888's on them if needed. I have high expectations for the RE-11 on the track. 5 weeks til opening day......
