Need New Tires For C63

Well I went through set of Pirelli's in about 4500 miles..So now I'm looking for a new set. I would definitely love to have the performance of those Pirelli's, but I would love to have some more tread life! Can someone help me out?

I have to do the same thing. Went nearly bald on the stock rears at 6000, replaced with the Pirelli's, and now I am down to last 25% near the wear bar; with 3000 miles on it....the car is now in for the Kleemann K1 upgrade so this is going to get even worse (or better....LOL).

Went thru a bunch of threads here this am and so far am hearing:

Michelin PS2
Falken FK 452's
GY Eagle F1 All Seasons
Kumho Ecsta SPT's
Nexen N3000's (can't seem to find where they were bot though)
Yokahama Advan A048's
Toyo T1R's

Several threads on these here....

Wow those tires are cheap.

But are they chinese tires? I read a few reviews that basically made me very reluctant to put chinese tires on a car with 450+ hp and torques.

just saying

I believe they are korean but im not 100% sure
the reason i picked these is because they were cheap since i do mostly city and town driving and many burnouts
these are fine for street driving and can last through burnouts like no other
I would not recommend these for track use which is why i switch, but for what i use them for daily they work great

At that price you can do burnout without feeling bad you just went through 500$ worth of tires in 30 seconds.

Not a bad idea.

Can I run 275's all the way around on stock wheels?

exactly my reasoning. they last for a LONG time which is nice and hold up to those monster burnouts

I dont think so because arent the front wheels 8in and the rear 9in?

whatever the case is, i run 245/40/18 fronts and 275/35/18 rear

As far as I'm aware nobody is running larger than 245 front and 275 rear. Even them some brands will rub. Anyone else able to verify this?

I'm getting new wheels, I was thinking about mounting a set of cheapies on the factory wheels for when I'm feeling the need to be a hooligan!

I am considering the Yokohama AD08 in 245/40 Fr and 265/35 Rr.

I want to see them first. This may be a great all-around tire for street racing.

High recommendation for Good Year Eagle F1 Asym. Yep GY. Who knew!?

I went up 10mm in the rear and the balance is near perfect now. Noise is good, wear looks good and they stick like they're supposed to.

I think the Pirelli P-Zero is over-rated. They NEVER last and I personally think the performance is middle of the road. My Audi came with them as well and I'm sure I'll end up replacing them by the end of the year.

I replaced the stock set with Nitto 555's which do great on the track and on normal weather conditions. I've had good luck with them in the past and the set on the rear have been holding up great.

When I wore out my fronts, I went with a pair of Sumitomo HTR Z III's in the front and I have to say those have been great as well. In fact, if I get good wear out of them I will probably continue to use them when my rear Nitto's wear out.

I've also had good luck with Kumho Ecsta's. My favorite Excta's are the MX, but the SPT and AST are nice as well.

I will really evaluate the tire upgrade. I want a great street road race tire and will also add some suspension upgrades. I often run 120 mph while racing some other cars. I plan to get an improved rear spoiler. Hopefully my horsepower upgrades and other upgrades compliment each other. The C63 AMG is performing great and everyone wants trade keys.

how many miles are you guys getting from the front tires.i can see the rears only lasting 5k-10k due to burnouts and all the power put to the ground, but the fronts should last about 20k-30k right?

anytime. if youre not tracking it and just cruising and burning out every chance you get then why waste money? save the expensive tires for the track days

I have about 7000 miles on the front and they look like they have 70% left on them.
