Brake squeal under light braking (noise)
#26
Find an empty backroad. Put gear selector in Reverse, get some speed and brake hard. Repeat twice if needed.
This was a recommendation from a tech guy (Brady or Brandon) who serviced my car @ Beverly Hills Mercedes, he used to have E55 himself.
I tried it myself and it helped.

My C63 started squealing from 1500 miles. The guys at the dealership told me to do some hard braking occasionally. This helps, but only for a little bit, like 500-700 miles.

C63 brake squeal
I've tried hard brake, reverse braking, washing hard, and lube the pads. Nothing works except replacing everything. Which I did on the back brakes. That’s 700 miles ago. Lets see what happens. The brake squeal is really an engineering problem that should have been addressed long ago. Makes MB and AMG look bad.

Mercedes isn't going to do anything about this, your best bet to remove the pads and put brake paste on the back then reinstall them. I use this stuff that looks like peanut butter, on my BMWs and never had sqeaky brakes.

Same here...they even gave me brand new rear rotors and pads...still (but for all I know, its coming from the fronts).

I have the same issue, but from what i've seen it is quite normal with high performance brakes. My friend with a Nissan GTR has the exact same problem.

My fifth time at the dealership since I bought my car back in Nov 2010. They gave me a few BS excuse. First, they said high performance brakes are known to squeal, then they said the material I use to wash my tires with, like Armor all will cause, then they said the brake dust build up is because I brake too hard! Coming from Porsche 911, and M5, any noise is not acceptable, bottom line. So I spoke with manager, they've re-replaced the rear pads for the second time. If the sound comes back, then I'll lemon the car.
I believe that when you pay above $100K for any car, it should be perfect. Otherwise, might as well buy a Subaru wrx sti at 1/3 of the price!
Bottom line, keep taking in back to dearlership, ask to talk to manager make sure you are happy with your car, don't put up with the horrible squealing sound!

Good work - Any car at any price should meet quality standards. No excuse. We are not talking about skateboards. No reflection on skateboard life. My last car was a BMW and I learned to live with the brake dust. No squeal.

mine do it to, mildly annoying.
never thought to ask about it tell i saw this thread. glad its just normal and there is nothing wrong with the brakes. i guess i should have been a little more worried about it since i hear that brakes are kind of an important function on a car o.O

I have noticed this problem for the last few months:
Put the car into reverse, ride the break, and then depress the brake down further. A noise will come from the front end, and from outside the vehicle, you can see the front wheels jerk when it happens. I took the vehicle to the dealership a few weeks ago, and they could not replicate it even though I showed it to them when I dropped off the car. I took it to them today and the shop foreman watched me do three times. He said they would figure it out. The looked at the suspension, and finally found another E63 to compare it too. It was doing the exact same thing. So, they finally said it was normal.

It's a component if big brakes and performance brake pads. Just use the purple goo(forgot name but will check in my garage tomorrow). It's the pad back plate rubbing/ chattering. Coat the leading edge and trailing edge as well as the back plate with the goo and the squealing will go away.

brake squeal is very normal for bbk, I went through two sets of rotors and 3 sets of pads, every combo always squeal, I used to have PFC 01 race pads for my bmw, they squeal like crazy, also my friends GT3 does the same thing whenever you light brake

This is an inherent issue to BBK period. Nothing really can be done to eleviate the issue. As this issue has been discussed a million times, in the E55, E63 sections, before the C63 arrived on our shores. I've learned to live with it.

Brake & Steering Noiae in C200
Mercedes Benz must make its buyers aware their cars across all segments have following built-in chacteristics
1. Steering when turned fully LHS or RHS makes noise when car is stationary
2. The car brakes also across all segments make unpleasant "jadderring" sound when half released or half pressed, as it may be required in bumper to bumper traffic !
Such features are not expected by unsuspecting Buyers of premium segment Cars like Mercedes Benz!
Check it out & give feedback !

Did you ever get this solved? I have a 2019 S560 with 32k and the brakes almost always squeal initially when backing out of garage or parking spot but then will quit until the next morning.

What is TSB? I am having the excessive brake squeak at 11,000 and just bought the car as a Certified Pre Owned 600 miles ago. I would like to have the dealership fix this issue.

this.. anyone have the TSB. I’m going tomorrow to b*tch about the high pitch squeak when light brake applied. I have a regular e350 sedan

I have the same issue, super annoying, Brand new brakes switched twice and the same problem. I might just go with a different brand or something.

I am still having the brake squeal. Dealer unwilling to do anything, says it's just rust. Typically only squeal on initial application of brakes. The rotors are all rusty.
#48
Unfortunately they are the only one within a two hour drive. I have not taken wheel off to clean, assume they would just rust right away again. I have cleaned well when washing with a cleaner and flushing out with power washer, but no change.
