EVOSPORT 2 Piece rear rotor

Is it worth 990 for the 2 piece rear rotors? I know they are lighter than stock. Also since they are lighter will they help free up more hp and help with acceleration?

Yes and yes - they greatly reduce unsprung weight as well as reduce the rotating mass. It also helps braking.

I will be getting a pair sometime in the next few months. I think the price is very reasonable and for the P30 it's bordering on a no-brainer.

I plan to order when the time comes to replace rear brakes and will also do the four brake lines.

Lighter and stronger wheels make for better handling, speed, and braking--so will lighter rotors.

What I don't like about the OE setup is that the vents, slots and cross-drills sweep forward on one side, back on the other...the same rotor is used for both sides. The Evosport rotors are R and L specific, a major improvement IMO.

The quality is great. I know 2 guys in Dallas that have them and love them. Another bonus is that your aluminum wheels won't rust to your steel hats anymore

Do they feel a difference in response and power?

I'm curious if there is any difference in the ride quality, particularly with the P30.

+1.

I swapped to the evo rear rotors and the 2-pc AMG fronts at the same time, and it made more of a difference that I would have expected, especially in ride quality. Less unsprung mass = less work for the suspension = better ride quality.

I was at evosport today and was lucky enough to see their new 2pc FRONT rotors for the SL63... so sick. They go the proper direction on both sides, just like the evo rears. I'm trying to justify getting new front rotors, again.

Noob question...If you change the brake pads are shot do you have to change the rotors? Is there any given time that you need to change the rotors at all or is it always just a brake pad change?

Not neccessary....but depending on how you drive. Some people need to change it everytime they swap the pads and some every other time. Just check the outer edge of the rotor and you will see the minimum thickeness engraved on there.

I hear about some guys who track that 1 piece rotors are better due to the high heat loads??

I dunno if the SL rotors will fit our cars, but AMG uses that same rotor size and offset on a bunch of models.

Regardless, Simon said specifically that they were going to make rotors for the C, so it doesn't really matter if the SL's work, right?

I've got the same combo sitting in my garage. I'm just waiting for my new wheels so I can do the R&R at the same time.

With some lightweight wheels, you can shave a combined 45-50lbs of unsprung weight off this car. That's a big difference you can certainly feel.

I don't know if it's worth it depends on how you value/need your money. I think they look very sexy though and if you have the disposable income then why not!

Roughly 14-LBS of unsprung weight to the rear will make a difference you will feel in acceleration, braking and cornering. Similar benefits to installing lighter wheels.

And now we have FRONT 2-piece rotors for the C63 as well! Shaves 40-lbs of total weight if you have 1-piece OE fronts or 26-lbs if you have the 2-piece OE fronts! See link below:

Very nice. What do the Evosport front rotors weigh?

Do customers who already have the Evosport rears get a break on a set of the fronts?

PM me.

The Evosport front 2-piece rotor is 23-lbs. Compared to 29-lbs for the OE 2-piece or 36-lbs for the OE 1-piece.

Yes, we will have special pricing for the front 2-piece rotors if you already the Evosport 2-piece rears.

That's UNSPRUNG weight! So even more of a difference.

The C63 P30 Performance Package comes with OE 2-piece front rotors. But they are expensive ($990 EACH!) and they still don't vent ideally on either side given there's only one part number that works either left or right. The Evosport 2-piece front rotor is still lighter, vents correctly and A LOT less expensive!
