Please excuse the forum members that criticize you above. You have a valid question and you had a wrong assumption (CLS63 same as C63). There is a reason why the baby C is not the same price as the E or the CLS. There are no adjustments to the transmission.
Regarding M mode being different than C or S, whatever you were smoking at the time, please ship me some

2010 Irridium Silver MB C63 AMG Sedan
I am fully aware that the C63 DOES NOT have adjustable suspension or any hydrolic options. And for you out there that thinks it does your dreaming. But indeed, when going into S mode, it feels like the car "buckles down". Can you explain what exactly goes on in the car when one goes into S or M mode? It is a gear ratio change that makes the pinions fewer and thicker causing a "shorter" and more "dramatic" gear change throughout shifts?

Thanks in advance....

no more AMG
Basically it holds onto the gears longer and shifts faster

I just found a quote from "AutoGuide.com"..."For 2010 the C63 AMG brings even larger brakes, "Airmatic Suspension", special Nappa leather and "Active Damping System" allowing different settings from comfort to sport".

Excuse me, but this calling me a dreamer is bugging me...another look on Google has reveiled this...

ConceptcarZ.com...Feb. 14 2010

2010 C 63 AMG - "NEW OPTIONAL DYNAMIC HANDLING PACKAGE"

"Heading up a list of new options for 2010 is a "DYNAMIC HANDLING PACKAGE" that includes "ACTIVE DAMPING SUSPENSION"...Faster Speed sensitive Steering and 18 Inch Five Spoke AMG Alloy Wheels.
The "ACTIVE DAMPING SYSTEM" uses wheel travel sensors and an electronic control unit to provide "Continuous Shock Absorber Damping Adjustments" based on both road conditions and driving style."

How come out of all of these cited sources none are Mercedes Benz?

http://www.mercedes-amg.com/?lang=usa#/c63-specs

There is no mention of any active (airmatic, active damping, etc.) suspension system on the 2010.

Edit: Compare the C63 description with the CL63's (http://www.mercedes-amg.com/?lang=usa#/cl63-technics) if you continue to have doubts.

I may have to correct myself...It looks as though the "Dynamic Handling Package" is available on the C 300 - C 350.
While digging abit deeper though, it is stated that the "Sport / Comfort Button on the C 63 while in "S" mode, reduces Body Lean while increasing Throttle Response and also Increasing Steering Feel...Transmission Shift Points are also higher"
Maybe the "Reduced Body Lean" is what I'm feeling and assuming as a little better of a ride.

Never trust sources like car magazines or journalists regarding details about a car's features.

Trust your car manual. Second best is official press releases from the manufacturer.

Like the C55 before it, the C63 does not have adjustable suspension. There are only 2 things you can "adjust": the transmission mode, and the ESP mode.

Taken from the official Mercedes press release about the C63 in 2007 about the transmission modes:

"This high-performance eight-cylinder engine has the perfect partner in the form of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission. Equipped with AMG aluminium steering-wheel shift paddles and three driving modes, the seven-speed automatic transmission allows a decidedly sporty or more comfort-oriented style of driving according to the driver's preference. The different modes - "S" (Sport), " C" (Comfort) and "M" (Manual) differ in their shift characteristics and speed: gearshifts in "S" mode are around 30% faster than in "C" and no less than around 50% faster in "M" mode. Pressing a button next to the selector lever is sufficient to activate the desired driving program.

The new C 63 AMG is the very first AMG car to feature an automatic throttle-blipping function during downshifts. This not only enhances the driver's emotional experience – the virtually jolt-free downshifting process also reduces the load-change responses and has a particularly positive effect when braking before bends on the racetrack
".

And here is the part about the ESP modes:

"The Electronic Stability Program ESP® is specifically configured for the dynamic performance of the C 63 AMG, which is the first AMG model to feature 3-stage ESP® with a Sport function. This system offers three different control settings and is a logical further development of the AMG ESP® philosophy. The ESP® button in the centre console enables the driver to choose between three modes – "ESP ON", "ESP SPORT" and "ESP OFF" – the currently active mode is shown in the central display of the AMG instrument cluster.

In "ESP ON" mode, the onset of handling instability leads to braking intervention at one or more of the wheels, accompanied by a reduction in engine torque. Briefly pressing the ESP® button activates "ESP SPORT". In this mode the braking intervention to counter oversteer or understeer, as well as the accompanying reduction in engine torque, allows a higher dynamic threshold and, for instance, corresponding drift angles – which means that the driver of the C 63 AMG benefits from considerably more active driving pleasure. ESP® is restored to its normal function as soon as the brake pedal is operated.

Prolonged pressure on the ESP® button activates "ESP OFF". There is no intervention to control the handling dynamics and no reduction in engine torque – thus increasing driving enjoyment even further. "ESP OFF" should only be used by experienced drivers on dedicated racetracks. In this mode too, operating the brake pedal restores all the normal functions of ESP®.

The system's traction logic is active in all three ESP® modes. If one of the drive wheels threatens to spin, specific brake pressure is applied to virtually create the effect of a mechanical differential lock. This means that the engine power is transferred to the road even more effectively
."

Diablo, you might want to take into consideration what these very seasoned members are saying here. With your 13 posts and the Newbie title, this wont go far here, this car as someone mentioned doesnt have the adjustable suspension as per Mercedes-Benz North America or Mercedes-Benz germany, no option, these are third party quotes that have managed to sway a person like yourself.....or you have the one and only C63 equipped with this feature...is this your car, the one and only??http://www.emercedesbenz.com/Images/..._C63_AMG_4.jpg
