Just an FYI, mbusa.com has 11 copies of the very rare, and hard to find, English Version of the 200+ page AMG: Reaching For The Stars book.

I've been chasing this book down for over 6 months, and somehow, early this week they became once again available for order. It may just be the very last batch, as the book is out of print.

It is, there are two part numbers

B6 604 6455 - English
B6 604 6454 - German

I posted this on the benzworld forum as well, and someone had called the customer service and they told him it was in German. I called them about 20 minutes ago, and the lady actually went out to the warehouse, checked the book, and said it was in English. The website is also confusing because they have some german text there.

In any case, I'm hoping to receive mine soon, and will be sure to post the language it's written in.

Not sure. Perhaps it is the only AMG history book. Just checked stock and they are down to 5 copies.

It's supposed to be 222+ pages of AMG history and cars. That's about the most documentation of AMG from a single source I've ever heard about. ...I was supposed to get my copy today, but stupid snow day delayed my order, otherwise I would have posted a full review for you .

In any case, the English version has been said to be out of print since 2007, and there were only a few book around left. The 12 copies that mbusa.com received earlier this week seems like it may be the last batch. Which makes for a rare grab, considering that some stores are selling this book for $250!!!

Just got the books in the mail. The book is simply, AWESOME!! It's packed with information, and some quite surprising. Did you know a TVR was used as a test mule for the SLR engine??

What would really be baddasss is if they made a 2 hour documentary, depicting the history from start to present day, showing clips of historical races, designs, and looks, and shots from the design studio. I have seen the DVD that came with my C63, but compiling it with more footage and showing more of what goes into manufacturing and engineering/testing...I would be all over that...

Sorry to hear that. I think '09's all came with a DVD with mini movies and a mini documentary showing how they built AMGS and design details and a Saks Fifth gift card. I could try and burn you a copy if you like, or call MBUSA and ask them to send you one. Its pretty cool to watch if your waiting in the car for your wife to get something from the store or whatever...

Yeah, missed out on DVD and Saks card...I get 2 nights with AMG and 1 for ML350...not sure if I can combine, but doubt it...Wynn is nice...little far away from the better places on the strip, and a bit vanilla for us (would prefer Caesars or Venetian, but whose complaining).



I don't like MB of Honolulu very much. Their service sucks, my salesman talked down to me a few times, and I had to put him in his place (sayings things like, "if we don't make $1500 or more on each sale, we can't stay in business"... Whatever, DUDE, more like, if you don't make $1500, you feel like the customer won!

Anyway, I have purchased $124K worth of cars so far, and have received 4 roses! What ****TY business!

Lucky *******s...I paid $1500 off MSRP in Apr 10...I "walked" when they wouldn't take $2K off and came back a week later...tried to walk again and they said "BYE!". I caved on the $500

Wish I would have waited a bit, although with only 1 dealer in the state, and less than 10 C63s sold to date (08-10), there isn't much bargaining power...not so on the ML
