LSD upgrade?
My 08 c63 AMG doesn't have an LSD and I'm finding that the DTC is always cutting in when pulling out of junctions in damp/wet (and even dry) conditions which is a little annoying.
Would a LSD make any difference in getting the power down to street use only (no track time)?

Imported anmd installed into Aus was A$5500, back out labour and taxes, duties and ridiculous customs charges and the profit margin of local installer and i reckon the unit itsef probably cost $3500-$4000 or US$3k if you are a sepo

Quaife LSD is what I have installed on my 08 beast and I absolutly love it every min I drive my car. I have done alot of mods to my car and thats one of the best mods I did.
Quaife LSD in the state goes from 1100-1300 plus 200-300 in oil and seals. Plus 800-1200 installing fee.

2010 C63 w/ Kleemann TB, ECU, LSD, & Headers + RT CF airbox & Carlsson 1/5 revo 19's
Take a look at Kleemann LSD.. Much better price..
60% locking mechanism, the device applies a 60% lock-up ratio between both rear wheels, where one has 60% of the drive power, the other 40 percent. The engines power is distributed more evenly by powering both drive wheels. Never will only one wheel receive all the power, reducing spin and improving acceleration.

Relying on some reviews (Benz as well as other cars), the Os Giken lsd is supposed to be the best there is with 100% locking.
Getting one possiby this summer, expect to pay from 3500 to 4000$ including install. I think Renntech is the distributor in the US.
James if you can get any let me know I'll order from you!
I also know someone here who has it and really loves it.

No doubt, the OS G is great, but probably overkill. I thought about getting one, but couldn't justify the $$$ for something I wouldn't need 95% of the time.

how extensive is the install? I assume open the pumpkin/housing then drop in the LSD unit, are new axles needed? Looking to see if an average performance shop overseas can take on the project.

2009 C63 AMG - Steel Grey
How much are you charging for the Quaife LSD? For everyday car and not much track time do you think the OS Giken is overkill and the Quaife will do just fine? I have been looking at both and can't say I can justify the OS Giken Price tag, although it seems to be a superior unit. Any info much appreciated. Thanks

c63 Drexler upgrade
Hi Guys,
Well after 12 months of driving my new c63 with a standard diff-i finally pulled my finger out and had the Drexler installed.
Fantastic decision.
The traction control light comes on atleast 50% less. Ease of getting off the line quickly has improved dramatically and the car is just generally better to drive under acceleration.
I cannot believe this car doesnt come standard with a lsd. Disgraceful.
For anyone out there-i would say i am 100% happy with the Drexler diff.
To keep it balanced-have to put some downside. I havent yet driven it in the wet yet. But in the dry, if you put the traction control on to "sport"-the car can get seriously sideways. I think this is because its harder to break traction-but once you do-it explodes sideways. Definitely no need for the "sport" or "off" settings now on traction control. When traction control is on 100%-its still very safe-no matter how brutal i am-cant get it remotely sideways. THats in the dry anyway.
WIll update you the 1st day it rains to let you know how it behaves in the wet.
