GT PRO X-PIPE

X-Pipe to delete the secondary cat just arrive to Japan today. I will be putting it on this week so as soon as I do it I will post how the sound goes. I have one X-Pipe that goes on center muffler so mine will be double X-Pipe.
I just cant wait on how it will sound and if I feel any power gain!!

I ordered this on March 11th and today is 15th in Japan so only took 5 days to arrive in Japan. That was fast!

So Xpipe will be better than straight pipe ? I'm planning to do my exhaust soon.

Personally I like X-Pipe. I don't know if its true but if you make is straight you may loose torque I heard. But you get good high end. Japan X-Pipe is more popular than straight pipe. I don't know about C63.

no more AMG
An X-pipe is designed to increase flow and reduce back pressure. Here is a link to one of the X-pipes threads

This has been discussed in lenght in previous threads. I believe that the conscensus was that the resonators do act as an X pipe and you can just take out the secondary cats and replace with straight pipes or high flow cats. It can't hurt to have dual x pipes

To each his own but with a louder car than stock I'd be worried about doing a Southpark Season 13 Episode 12.

I just got my X-Pipe of GT PRO to delete the secondary cat. Plus I had another X-Pipe so mine is now double X-Pipe.

I have to say WOW!! The car sounds nice and for power I can really feel the increase of power in mid range and up. For the sound in idle is like stock nice so when I go home there is no problem. But when you step on the gas it changes!! You get nice V8 sound. I'm really glad that I bought this.

did you keep the stock exhaust?

what is the diameter of the exhaust piping and now does it match the oem exhaust.

It was a perfect match! I have 2nd cat and when ever you want to bring back 2nd cat you can do that with no problem. Shop said it was very easy.

ET, both the stock exhaust piping and the GT PRO X-Pipe is 2.5" diameter.

HIRO63, it looks like your installer used the "go back to stock" sleeve on the side that was cut instead of just a single clamp over the slip fitting.

No problem if it works, but not really needed.

I see most people that went with headers also go with 3'' exhaust piping.

so I guess the GT design is for people that will not go with headers????

I'm interested to see the difference between PLM exhaust manifolds with the x pipe and long tubes. Maybe it's not that significant, considering how much LTs cost. Super, you gonna get a K2 flash?

It's not a problem but it's not exactly right.

Your X-Pipe should have come with a single clamp and a sleeve with two clamps.

The stock piping (where the single cut is made) slips into the end of the X-Pipe and the provided single clamp tightens everything up.

If you want to go back to stock, you use the provided sleeve with two clamps to re-attach the two stock pipes where the cut was made.

The installer used the sleeve with two clamps instead of the single clamp to attach the X-Pipe to the stock pipe.

Make sense?
