Window tint and rear brake light question
Ok so my window guy is coming out tomorrow (saturday) to do the C63. im using 20% film so it should be pretty dark. with that said....
i was riding behind a C class the other day and they had the back window tinted. well the third brake light was now dim due to the dark tint between it and the window.
my question is this. do most of you guys with tinted windows see this as an issue? i just didnt like the look. so when i got home i noticed there is no "boot" around the third brake light so maybe thats my only option to run the tint down the window and infront of the light. or has anyone here "notched" the bottom of the rear tint to allow for the brake light to illuminate better?
silly question i guess but just trying to see what most of you here have done. with the window tinted in front of the light it just looked dirty to me..... thanks a ton.

ok that settles that. just typically my rear brake lights have a "boot" sort of thing around them and i noticed the C does not. so the light sits back an inch or two from the window.... im taking you advice thanks a ton!!

20% is not that dark
i went with 35% for the rear and 15% for the front
No problem with the brake light
Me bad, is actually, 50% front and 35% rear
In California is illegal to tint the front ones

on the back did you tint the entire window or cut out for it? in KY its illegal to go 20 on the sides you can only do that on the back. 35 max on the sides. im doing the whole car in 20.

Hi Lex, I have tried to "notched" the bottom of the rear tint in my previous car but it doesn't look good so I have retinted with 20% and I'm satisfied with the result. I actually consulted with www.TintBuyer.com regarding my tinting needs, all the best dude
