New RS5

Audi has released a new promo video for the awe-inspiring RS5.

Boasting a 4.2-liter V8 with 331 kW (444 hp / 450 PS) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque, the RS5 rockets from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and tops out at an electronically limited 250 km/h (155 mph). If that isn't fast enough, Audi can remove the speed limiter to enable the car to hit 280 km/h (174 mph). Not bad considering the RS5 only consumes 10.8 liters of petrol per 100 km (21.78 US mpg).

To keep the beast under control, Audi installed a new crown-gear center differential. It "can widely vary the distribution of torque between the front and rear axles. If necessary, up to 70 percent can flow to the front or as much as 85 percent toward the tail end."

The RS5 will go on sale in Germany this spring, with a base price of approximately €77,700 ($103,870 USD). Unfortunately, Audi has been mum on U.S. availability but it doesn't look promising
They can't be serious! $104K?!

That's just a direct Euro to USD conversion. I highly doubt it will cost that much.

The prices in Germany are waaaay above the U.S. prices - a fully loaded C63 costs here approx. 95ooo euro = $126ooo

So if the RS5 will be released on the U.S. market, it will most definitely have a much lower price

The RS5 is sexy, but I'd still rather have my C63.

Sounds nice but it will overpriced like all high performance Audi's. You can almost get a C63 for the cost of an S5.

Won't be that much. S5 are what? Low 60s? High 50s? I say look around to be high 70s or low 80s for the price tag if it comes here.

High 70's or low 80's is still way overpriced! It's a nice car but....

The S5's at my Audi dealership are around $68 which is a joke because thats C63 money for less of a car IMO. I have the Prestige and Sport packages on my A4 which is VERY close to that of the S5 minus some alcantara seats and S badging. The Audi's interior is a nice place to be, but not as nice as the C63. Compairing both the the vehicle in stock form, the perfomance of the S5 isn't on par with the C63.

The E550 coupe is a very nice car. My friend has one. I can't compare the two being that I've never sat in the S5 before. Although the Audi's look I like very much. The E550 coupe does have about 30 more horses than the S5. The S5 probably has better handling due to it's all-wheel drive.

I would say the S5 would probably dominate the E550. The weight is the same, and even though the E550 has 30 more HP, it's 0-60 is 5.3 while the S5 is 5.1. The S5 would take is for sure when you through them some corners.

I think this is the latest motor, '08 and up. They've had issues with these for sure. If you have an '07 and earlier, should be fine, as long as your tune is good..

Torque numbers very low. You've got to have close to as much torque as you do horsepower to be any good. 444hp and 317 torque = not too great IMHO.
