if you delete the cats and muffler will you get an ecu warning due to lack of back pressure?

yes and no.. If you just chop them out you will get a CEL indicating "cat inefficiency" code, but this is not due to backpressure.

A good tune like Kleeman, Asura/Singh, MHP etc., will solve that issue. Also, if you use our 2nd cat X-pipe you will not throw a CEL as the ECU will not detect it, but if you remove the main cats, you WILL get a CEL. our new LT header design will not cause a CEL either due to it's design as well.

if you just got with an x-pipe and of stock design and no software the match with it. then yes you will lose back pressure!

now the the theory of the double x-pipe is tying to create turbulence so you get back pressure hence more power and torque through out the power band.

but you have to notice the double x-pipe is a very nice design. for a stock ecu set up and is maybe better for most users. (I think)

if you going to go for bigger HP in the future I think it is better for you to go bigger in diameter on the exhaust pipping like 3'' or 2.75''

Brian how much do you think your LTs will run when they come out?

Yes, I have both, but I don't want to hijack the OP thread. But.. here is a teaser. 1.7/8" primaries full stainless, offset 02 bungs and 02 extension harness all included.

the reflash thing, I don't know and have not tested. However what I have tested is a Stage 1 tune with our header set, and with our offset 02 set up, it has not thrown a code in about 3000 miles of testing

Start a new thread!

1. So you don't need a reflash? I thought you needed one to take advantage of the increased exhaust flow, but are you saying that the ECU would adequately adapt?

2. When do you expect some dyno results?

3. When do you expect these to be able to ship?

Thanks!

That headers picture looks sick! what is the diameter pipe after the collector? is it a 3" or still a 2.5". Good job Brian.
