And it seems rear tires only last 6-8K miles (I remember seeing one post mention needing new ones at 4K!), has anyone gotten more than 10K from their tires? thx
Take in consideration that we are enthusiasts who will - generally - floor the car at least once each time we take it out. Many of us will do more crazy stuff, like burnouts, launches etc.

Also consider that the majority of the vehicles in the forum are modded and have considerably more horsepower than the stock C63, resulting in more rubber burning.

Also consider that few of us are lunatics who will WOT in every single opportunity, burnout, drift and do jumps - Dukes of Hazzard Style - very often. More information about those in the "crazy night" thread.

If you're worried about tires, change to some Nexens N3000's and you can do all the burnout you want and still have a tire that has some good road performance. :o

Thanks for all of the great feedback guys! My mind is made up.

Could you provide any insight on the maintenance costs?

Also, any ideas on a reliable suv for the wife - i.e. Touareg and Cayenne on my mind...

Best large SUV on the road is the MB GL450...hands down. Has EVERYTHING in it and with > 37k mi. on ours, it's still awesome with zero issues. If you don't need the large SUV with 3 rows, then look at the ML, the Infiniti FX, Lexus RX, or the BMW X5/6.

My DD is an ML63, no issues on either one so far. The C just Gas,Oil and Rubber. the ML just more Gas and some oil.

I would highly recommend these 2 cars.

I've had my c63 for 20 month and 12 000 miles with ZERO ISSUES.

I did the first oil change and maintenance at 1 year (or 15 000km if I'm correct) cost me 400$ CAN.

Not bad at all.
