I am interested in the Euro leather console as well.
Please inform me about the total costs including shipping to the US.
Is there an installation manual available?

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Only see stitching on the passenger side section, is the driver side section in nappa leather as well ? Man that MA Carbon looks sweet also.

Do we lose half of our storage capacity when we do this upgrade? It looks as if the sliding lid of the cupholder area, when retracted, must occupy the area under the passenger side of the armrest.

No. Take a close look at this photo. See where the cover retracts too? No storage loss.

Nice. Thanks. I sure would like to know whether the part at getmercedesparts.com is the same thing. Anyone care to take the plunge for us?

I seriously doubt it has the leather cover. The part number for the Euro Console w/ Leather doesn't come up when you do a search.

It's more than likely the non-leather version as seen in this photo:

I still amazes me why Mercedes would produce a car like this without putting in a leather armrest, or at least a stitched leather-like one, that we are all upgrading to. I believe all of its direct competition has this. This is so goofy and rubber looking. I understand the cost-cutting factor, and there is more competition in the market for price consideration, but there is a point it becomes pathetic... when producing the C63, they could have conisdered this item to differentiate from the rest of the C lineup.

I agree. Think of all of the nice touches MB could have included in the C63 for $1000 that would entirely set it apart from the other C's, and even get it on par with the interiors of the Audis. I'd have willingly paid it. In addition to leather everywhere, I'd like the folding mirror option back (I had it on my '08 C350) and the ability to one-touch the seat memory buttons. iPod info in the COMAND display seems a no-brainer as well. I love the car, but little things like this are important to the discerning car nut like me.

This was fixed in 2010.

Right now the cost of the unit will be around $213.00 USD assuming that we purchase these units with VAT been added. The breakdown is as follows:

Unit price in Czech Kc w/VAT = 5600Kc
21.0 Kc to USD
-19% reduction of VAT tax since units are been exported.

I don't know the shipping costs yet as I have not shipped a unit back. Costs will of course be based on destination in US/Canada and also by weight/size of box. I will send estimates once I start to send units.

There is no instruction manual as this is OEM part and MB does not ship install manuals with this unit. You can take it to any shop and it will take them 30 minutes to replace. The procedure is to release console from the center transmission tunnel via the back in the rear seat area where the Ac vents are.

Thanks. I think superlubricity has already address the question here. The CF trim is actually not from MACarbon but DCT who are a sponsor on the threads. Great product and cheaper than MACarbon.

I think the price is reasonable, so I want to have one as well.
I guess the people that already mounted the unit in their cars might be able to assist the inexperienced ones, just an idea.
I really like the design of the Euro spec unit, especially the leather.
Please let me know when you have the final prices.

Thank you.

Best regards

Ok, please send me PM with your name, email and address. Please let me know what color you need. On installing the unit, for simplicity sake just take into MB or your local shop and have them do install. The price as stated is final price for unit (may go up or down a couple of bucks based on currency exchange changes) and shipping I will let everyone know.

Guys,
Have just checked into shipping rates and they are not great. Please see below:

Fed-Ex: $257.00
UPS - $274.00
DHL - $245.00

The issue here is not the weight but the dimensions. The console itself does not weigh that much so the carriers base it on volume of shipment (dimensions) rather than weight. I will check into shipping by registered mail (post) and let you all know.

Ouch. There's got to be a way to get those here in North America. $250 in shipping might just be more than I'll bear for that upgrade. Are dealers here unable or just unwilling to order European parts?

I believe I have found a source for these A 212 680 02 98 9G23 consoles here in the States and will keep the board apprised of my progress.

Guys, I agree the shipping is nuts. As I said, let me see if there is any other way (registered mail etc) to get units to North America cheaper. I agree that shipping kills any benefit of cheaper price and access to product. Will let you know.

Is it just me, or is the leather in the photos textured? It isn't smooth like the seats. Is that expected?
