2009 C63 K1
Also, why do people feel the need to lecture on this site? The OP's decisions what to do with his money and for his son are none of our business.

C63 AMG Arctic w/ Stage 1 Tune, DoubleXX pipe, MCD-631X coming soon
I have owned multiple BMW, and AMG's. Right now, my feeling is that BMW is on my S**T lift right now for various reasons. My E92 had many things I was very unhappy with, especially the USELESS iDrive..arrggh what a pile. The COMMAND is FAR better, it actually understands what I am saying, where the BMW kept interpreting things I was saying incorrectly, it was VERY frustrating. Power the C63 hands down. Build quality is a toss up they are both well built cars. Driving enjoyment, C63, I had both cars at the same time, and I was racking up miles on the C, while my E92 was sitting in my driveway. For me at this point, the C63 just makes more practical sense, more room, more flexibility, and I think just as fun handling as the E92. GTR? another story altogether (yes we've built multiple GTR's, but all of my guys STILL say they want to own a 6.3 vs a GTR any day of the week).

Supercharged E92 M3
Coming from a BMW guys I might sound i'm on the wrong side here.
but this is honestly what I think
C63 great car! great for 1/4 mile action and city cruising, and it gets great power for simple mods!! and great advantage.
BMW M3: another great car! the car has great balance, and if you serious about HP so far the S/C kits out there makes more HP then the C63 so if your into mexico runs then s/c kits I think that would be your best route.
However I feel it you buy a BMW you will get bite by the mod bug(I did) because there are just so many options out there too much to choose from if you ask me.
anyways!

just found this: hope it helps you out!

C63 09' LSD traded for 2010 GT-R
IMO
If it had to be a C63 or M3 I would go with the M3 with a traditional manual gearbox. No SMG or Auto C63. I believe the act of shifting gears makes for a more involved experience and hopefully a more focused driving experience. In the long run a better learning experience for a younger driver. They have to pay attention a bit more than an auto.
I choose AMG products with the wonderful adaptive autobox over the BMW choices simply because I use the car for work duties in a lot of traffic and local driving. Moved over to AMG from BMW, first C32, C55 then C63. I now have a GT-R. I miss my C63...
Good luck with the choice.

09SL65, do you drive around Melville, NY? Cause I've seen the same white SL65 in my complex and you don't see SL65 all that often. Just wondering.

2012 E63 PP, 2012 Ferrari 458, 2012 Boxster S
Each to their own but I went from a ’09 E63 to a 2010 C63 simply for the compact size. Nothing wrong with the E but I’m loving the C.
As for highway miles and passenger comfort the E is clearly superior.
