New addition to the stable
Hi guys just bought a 2009 SL63 with 13,000km on the clock in iridium silver...very happy camper! 1 owner, 3.5yrs to go on warranty (remainder of new car and 2yrs pre-owned) Brand new set of Pirellis on it, never been tracked, full log books and service history and delivered to my door in Sydney. 30% cheaper than a brand new car, which is acceptable

Nice choice ! But, doesn't it get boring to drive 63s all the time?
I'm a real car fan, and Merecedes has been beloved in my family for some time, but I'm not a Merc-maniac. I love MBs but I test-drive any other car to compare and contrast whenever I get a chance.
Did you consider any other cars? Or was it just a great deal and you couldn't resist it?

Congrats...I see more mods in your future! That is an impressive stable you are building there. Just add a E63 and S63 and you have a complete set!

Thanks, I am a bit of a merc maniac but every car has its different characteristics. The ML has a nice ride height and unbelievable exhaust noise, C63 is small and zippy while SL has open top which gives a whole different driving experience. Same engine in all of them ? yes, but every drive is different
I would never question the 6.3 choice
It's more about the interior and overall usage of the car - I tend to get bored of the same navi, the same options, and the same interior parts. That's what I meant.
As I recall correctly, you modded your ehxaust on the ML recently right ? Any video?

I get car next week, but in the test drive last weekend that is what sold me, the transmission is amazing, a completley different experience to the C and ML. You can really sense the faster shifttimes, its almost imperceptible...and dont get me started on the exhaust noise...!

Congrats and welcome to the forum
Don't mean to scare you, but the early model SL63s had many MCT problems (at least here in the U.S.) which caused the tranny to be replaced under warranty. Make sure you have somebody check the status of the tranny very well before pushing it too hard.
