Battle with CLS 63

Today on free way I see fast car coming behind me so I step on the gas. But I could not pull away from this car since it was night time I could not tell which car it was. Then trafic came so this car pulled right behind me and found out that it was CLS 63. Then car front of me pulled away so I step on the gas and he did aslo. But both car is just about the same. I cant pull away and he cant catch me. So we seemed about same power.

But if you think about it CLS 63 has 514 ps and I have tune so my car seems to have like same power as CLS 63. For CLS it did not sound like stock very nice sould and lowerd nice so this car might have tune also. This I dont know.

I have that huge GT Wing so its not good for top speed so I think like because of it like 10km or more slower without it? But this is good for track.

Here is what I did to my car

1. DMS ECU Tune
2. GT Pro Double X-Pipe
3. K&N Drop in Air Filter

I will check my power and see what kind of power I should get.

OK what I dont know is that is this battle a good that he could not take the lead just about the same or I should have able to pull away. I just dont know how fast CLS 63.

So I want to know that how is my car? Fast that I could battle with it or slow that I could not pull away CLS 63?

Please let me know.

CLS63 is much heavier than your C63

Since I could not tell 100% that it was 63 because it was dark so what if it was CLS 55?

or then again, it'd be around equal since both of your rides are tuned as stock CLS55 does 1/4 mile in 12.6 or so

I came from a CLS63 to a C63 K2 and I can confirm that a stock CLS63 would never be able to keep up with a tuned C63. Not many tuned CLS63s driving around as the modding is very expensive in terms of $/HP gain.

A modded CLS55 however, is a completely different story. With the right tuning packages these are outright beasts.

Yes you should pull on a stock CLS63.

Your story leads me to believe that you were up against a modded CLS55.

correct.

55s are supercharged meaning they have great torque and modding potential due to forced induction

You have a Voltex wing correct? Gigantic wing = drag. Bad for top speed freeway runs.

Just a tune only C63 vs cls63 should be a close race if not the c63 should be a lil faster. A tune only C63 with all cats removed was able to beat my stock e55 only 1/2 a car to 1 car length. Week prior to losing I was beating the C63 half a car length. With headers that he has now I get walked easily.

If your C63 has all its cats on then my stock e55 will be dead even if not be slightly faster then a tune only C63. A cls63 is close stock vs stock with a e55 so being even sounds just about right if you ask me.

A tuned C63 should be able to "comfortably" beat a stock CLS55, CLS63, tune-only CLS55, and tune-only CLS63 because of it has more power and better aerodynamic. It is only when the CLS starts having headers, pulley (in case of the 55), and other mods that they may get the edge.

Yes I have that huge wing. Like how much difference will be different in top speed?

OK so my car has DMS ECU tune, no 2nd cat changed with X-Pipe and center muffler to X-Pipe so I should able to up away easily to stock CLS63?

Since I could not pull away we where like just even so that means my tune is really not good?

It's hard to judge without more information. Maybe the other CLS had headers, intake, or other mods. Maybe your tune is not dialed in right. Too many variables. You should dyno your car at an independent shop or take it to the track and see where she stands, then go from there.

HIRO:

How fast where you going?

I think we a good tune and you already got a exhaust set up you should take that car with no problem at all!

My friends C63 did pretty good against a E55 with some pretty good mods.

or you can think about getting a Gintani Tune on your car!

good luck next time!

Hey my Brother from the land of the rising sun!

I still think you could have done better on the speedo if it shows 230km/h its only like 210-215km/h on the GPS

if you can I would take out the primary cats and keep the secondary cats!

my buddies car shows excellent results. you can PM I can give you how he got his car modded!

With the mods you have you should be pulling 2-3 cars( or more) on a stock cls63 easy. I had an encounter a long time ago with one when i was completely stock and had a full car upfront. This might be due to the weight of the CLS i believe.

Weight and aerodynamic effeciency. I believe the CLS has a higher coeffecient of drag.
