sorry if this is a repost but does this work for the C63??


from a good friend of mine. Works a treat! I am sure most of you already know this, for those of you who dont here goes.

When you first start you E55 up, the COMAND system displays the 'STAR symbol. Well if you'd prefer to see the 'AMG' logo instead, then just do the following:

Turn ignition key to position 1 or 2.
2. Turn on Command.
3. Turn to Radio.
4. Press 5 (continue holding and wait 1 second).
5. Press 3 (continue to hold along with 5 key and wait 1 second).
6. Press 7 (continue to hold along with 5 and 3 keys and wait about 3 seconds).
7. A menu should appear. Scroll down and select "AMG211_ECE" option.
8. Switch off ignition, remove key and leave about 5 minutes before turning on again

 

Tried it with no success, no menu, nothing...

 

sounded too good to be true

 

The key sequence is different, its the engineering menu that you want most likely (I have no tried yet, I will check at lunch or when I get home).

It doesn't work i just tried it...

 

A close friend of mine is a tech at Mercedes, He said there is a way to bring up the AMG command logo on the c63, hopefully he could do it to mine too. If he can, i will definitely let u guys know. He also put my car in "dyno mode" one time which completely turns the cars ABS, traction, governer, etc off. He still wont tell me how he did it.

 

Do a search on "dyno mode" and you'll find threads with a youtube link teaching you how to do it.

 

Don't ya'll just love it when someone posts an old W211 COMAND trick and posts it as fact on the C63 W204 forum without having verified it in the first place.

Does the posting member own one?

I can't imagine turning on Dyno mode in a C63. I did it in my car and it scared the crap out of me. You don't realize how much control the computers have in these cars.

 

That trick is for W211 cars.... and yes it does work on those models.

 

the C63 is scary enough without the dyno mode. lol

 

Actually I was at work when I found the post on line. It was not posted as a fact but a question.
And yes I do own one..

AMG comand logo, has anyone found out how to get the ''AMG'' logo to come on the screen when its switched, as apposed to the default "Mercedes Benz"

I was looking for this option while enabling the reverse lines in the engineering menu. No luck with the logo
