2011 C63 "The Beast"
Technically, I am already in because I mainly speak for my dad (rdl666) as he doesn't have as much time to get on and because we both share a love for this awesome car. We're definitely excited though to other C63s and how our barely modified P31 (charcoal filter delete) compares to everyone else's cars.

Allright guys. It's almost time. Weather should be perfect.

I've already paid for the deposit. I've also decided I'm going to pay more out of my own pocket to keep the cost to others at $200 or less. I'll be collecting the $ at Woodburn. Only 5 people have committed so far which really surprises me. Lots of people saying "add me to the list" and then they disappear.

We do need some more cars so please extend the invite out to others. I'll continue to do the same.

Also, make sure I have your email address so I can send out contact info, etc.

Let's get these spots filled up!

Exclamation

Bad news fellas. The 7/19 track rental is canceled.

avengerboater will not be able to make it down and that leaves us with only 4-cars for a 6-hour rental. Not exactly cost-prohibitive with such limited participation.

I called up Gene @ Woodburn this morning and he suggested we reschedule the rental for a future date. He also mentioned he would be able to get some additional cars from local racers to attend with longer notice. He's going to hold my deposit and help us find a new date that guarantees a full showing. I will try for either a future Monday or Friday to best maximize the trip for those coming from Washington.

I'm sorry for such short notice and I wholeheartedly apologize that we had to cancel. I will reach out as soon as a new date is selected. Again, this was certainly not the outcome I wanted but the lack of interest at this time leave me with no choice.

Even Money, we should try to head out to Pacific Raceways or Bremerton one afternoon (soon!) so you can put your DRs and Helmet to use!

I like the idea of Wednesdays but am open to Fridays if it is better for others.

No sweat avb. It was out of your control. Do you think you'll be able to make a local day @ Pacific or Bremerton?

It would be cool if we could get the the 8-9 local C63s to join in.

Speaking of locals, has anyone seen or heard from nrgy?

I'm pretty confident i can swing a local track day. I mean, there's got to be some middle ground to compromise on, right?

Hey guys, I've been out of the loop for awhile now. Ran into some problems with my laptop while overseas so couldn't participate at all online, but I'm finally back. If there's a session going on next Wed. I think I can make that!

Off topic, but I did manage to get some track time on the Nurburgring. Awesome experience and highly recommend to everyone. And I had the chance to sit inside a DTM car at the museum...those seats are ridiculously tight! Imagine slipping on a helmet over your head...that's what it's like getting in and out of that car!

I know the private track rental event never happend, but have you guys thought about simply joining one of the local clubs and participating in some of their lapping days?

I'm thinking about joining one of the NW clubs such as BMW CCA or Porsche Club to take advantage of their driving clinics and lapping days at either Pacific Raceways or Bremerton. Plus, it looks like if you are a member of any of the NW clubs you can join in on any of the other car club's events.

I am anxious to get some track time either way, but this looks like it could be the best and easiest way to do it?

Woodburn Dragstrip rental is going to happen in September. I just need to set the date.

I'm always down for joining a lapping day.

Count me in once I get my headers installed...However, if I get a new c63, I might have to wait...no need to mod the current car if I'm trading it in. For those that are curious, I was rear ended last Dec. with serious damage, and am about to get some type of settlement...hopefully avoiding a lawsuit.

I would love to join but would feel like SUCH a clown in my puny C43 compared to the BEASTS you guys are driving. I would like to come down and watch if that's acceptable? I only live about 30 minutes away from the woodburn drag strip. Please post the scheduled date...

Sorry to hear about the rear ending but at the same time if it allows you to get a new C63 then perhaps it was a blessing in disguise

They don't allow non-participants to spectate. Guests of cars running that arrive with those cars are totally fine (Wives, GF's, family, etc.)

It will only be $100-150 per car. Shooting for 15-cars of all makes/models so we can maximize the rental. The more people that participate the better the rates are for everyone. Let me know if you are interested in running.

Yeah I am interested in coming but like I said before I would be ashamed by my 14 second 1/4 mile times compared to the 11 and 12's I'm sure you guys will be running plus I have been to watch people run the 1/4 mile but never have myself and again would be ashamed of my "newbness" as I am unaware of the rules.

That makes it the perfect time to learn and practice. No pressure.

When are you planning on the track day? Do you need to have a helmet, special tires, fire extenguisher, etc.... ?

Helmet for 13.99 seconds and quicker. Drag Radials will certainly help with traction but are not required at all.

Shooting for a Friday morning in September.

Well seeing how I am FULLY stock (besides a little bit lighter rim and secondary cat + resonator delete) I can tell you that I will not be running less than 14 seconds in the 1/4 mile so I guess I won't be needing a helmet if I do go. Friday isn't exactly the best day for me is a Saturday or Sunday out of the question?

Track Rentals usually only happen on Weekdays. The track has public events scheduled on weekends.

Let me know the actual date and I will let you know if I can get the time off from work. I will have to swallow my pride as I will OBVIOUSLY be the slowest out there ET wise but perhaps I can get some good reaction times.... I really look forward to being able to see a bunch of C63's out performing on a track up close an personal. The C63 is an attainable dream car of mine and as soon as my wife graduates from her masters program I will be joining the club of proud C63 owners, for now my starter AMG will have to do.
