CLK 63 Black Series vs. C63 AMG. What's the big difference?

Yeah, sticks aren't worth it in heavy traffic areas at all...unless you track a lot, the auto doesn't hurt you that much anyway....Sure, I'd like to be able to ride the clutch a bit when launching (as opposed to just hoping wheel spin stays down)...but I love just being able to stomp the floor. Any talk of MB changing the drivelines up anytime soon?

yeah. I didn't get to beat the snot out of it. But I drove it around town and on some country roads for about 25 minutes.
Its an automatic gearbox with a torque converter. I don't care for them in sports cars. As good of an autobox as it is, I did not find the shifts to be instant, nor do I like the paddles in the first place.
I've also driven PDK equipped 911s and although thats a better gearbox in every way, I didn't like that either.
If its a sports car, I want 3 pedals and a shift lever. The fact that the Ferrari 458 doesn't have a manual gearbox option is very troubling to me.

There was rare White one with 8000 miles somewhere near Florida I believe that was selling for $65k last month when I was looking for something more fun to drive. Nearly picked it up.

I'm aware of that, as I considered a GT3RS but chose the CLK. By the way, makes a lot of sense going from a GT3RS to a C63

The only thing I wish Mercedes would've done to the black series was to increase power output to at least 550 hp instead of the 507 rated in the E/CLS 63s
It would've been even nicer to stuff the new M159 engine from the SLS in there (563 hp).

I hope Ferrari won't be too disappointed to hear that another one fell through the cracks . The future is in a sequential gearbox which makes those cars tolerable to drive in traffic, and not a Muncie rock crusher. The majority of people who can afford those cars live in a city, not the plains.
If you're too much of a sissy to push a hydraulically assisted clutch pedal in traffic, then buy your automatic. The cup holder for your latte is probably better in the clk anyway.
I don't care what the "future" is. I'm not a technology ***** in cars. I'd take a 72 911 RS over a new corvette. I'd rather actually feel something and DRIVE the car instead of having 4000 computers do it for me.
I live 10 minutes from NYC, and yet I still want a manual gearbox.

Perfection is a 3800lb sports car with an oil burning V8, an automatic gearbox and a little bit of carbon fiber? I'm sorry, but no way. A 6 speed Ferrari F430 is far closer to sports car perfection.
If you think I'm the only one who prefers a traditional gearbox, you're mistaken.

By the way, it's a 1973 RS .......but doesn't matter anyway. You would/could never spend that kind of money for a gray market car

Now we're talking....... another gem of an Oliverk post!!! All your post's have one thing in common: They are negative and bitter. What happened, life didn't turn out the way you wanted? Just because you're unhappy doesn't mean you have to pass on your misery. You are also a hypocrite of the first order. "You don't like new technology"? Really??? Why would you drive that 993 turbo with an ALL WHEEL DRIVE and all kinds of computers????? Because YOU are the SISSY who can't handle a car that oversteers??? Or is it because they are now in YOUR price bracket
By the way, it's a 1973 RS .......but doesn't matter anyway. You would/could never spend that kind of money for a gray market car

If your reading comprehension were any better, you'd realize that I said I'm not a "technology *****". A 993TT has all kinds of computers? Really, care to list a few of them. If they made a 993TT with rear wheel drive, I'd have bought one, but sadly they don't. I don't care for the looks of the 965, hence I didn't buy one of those.
I can't handle a car that oversteers. Amazing deductive reasoning there. Amazing how I drove a car with 200 more horsepower at the wheels than a CLK BS makes at the crank, with (shockingly enough) RWD for more than 4 years. But then again, pony cars don't have power on oversteer. Then again, yes, I would prefer my cars to handle neutrally. You can keep your oversteer.
I'm interested to know what my "price bracket" was, since you seem to know my financial situation very well. Then again, if I liked technology, I would just buy a 996 Twin turbo, which are actually cheaper than a 993TT.
You're correct, it is a 73 RS. fat fingered that one, i'll admit, even though the RS was introduced in 72.
Lets see, whats a decent RS go for? $125K? You're right I wouldn't want to spend that much.
Doesn't change the fact that I don't particularly care for the CLK BS with an automatic transmission.
I'm sorry that angers you so much.
