MBH LT Headers_RENNtech Tune Dyno Results
As most of you know a week ago I left for Scottsdale AZ to turn my car over to Dyno-Comp for the installation of Hooley's MBH LT headers and a custom RENNtech tune by Dyno-Comp. My time is limited at this moment so I will post more later about my experience but first and foremost I'd like to thank Hooley, Richard, Matt, Matt #2 and Hayden. Richard Garcia is a perfectionist and the work performed by the Dyno-Comp crew was light years ahead of any prior shop experience I've ever had. The guys picked me up from my hotel, chauffeured me on my coffee runs and totally took care of any request I had. Best of all, I made some new friends in Scottsdale that I will see again! Thanks again guys, for caring about every detail and improving my C63 BIG-TIME...and yes, Hooley, you are the man!
Here are four charts run on the Dyno Dynamics, all runs done with no primary cats, with secondary cats and for the curious, ROW airboxes and OE filters. To make sense of this, Richard printed out a chart with explanations, but the three curves are really quite simple, "stock," "w/ LT headers" and "w/LT headers and RENNtech tune." Peak gain was 90WHP over the OE baseline. The second chart shows the same three runs but w/o the explanation. The third chart show the starting and end points of the installation and tune. The fourth chart is a *NAILED* AFR. Amazing...
The only bad news? With CA-legal cats the power is down 20WHP....more than I expected and hoped for. Nonetheless, the cats are staying on for now...it's all reversible via the test pipe anyway for "offroad use only." OK, more later...other things like soundclips to come.

I have been on that dyno myslef on a different car. We are talking a 100whp plus on a dynojet(equivalent), that is awesome. Are you staing in Scottsdale for a while. I would love to see the set up. If you could post some videos soon it would be great. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, an AFR graph! And a frickin' great one at that. Nice power numbers, indeed.
I gotta say bhamg's car sounds great with the headers and cats. Very civilized at idle and blatty raw on the gas. Just the way it should be.

Ditto that! Very civil at idle and bloodthirsty when unleashed. Hooley did a great job on this build.

This sounds like it was a great build/project. The care and effort that went into the build and then to get the tune just right, paid-off big time and you got the numbers prove it.
Bart you got a monster there; you actually starttled (ok scared) Sin and me when he drove up to in the parking lot!! Great job.

C63 Guy, Sin - I appreciate it...very much!
Jon - Mine do. that's all I know.
Vegas - Yes, this was both an adventure and a bit of an experiment...I'm just happy that we were all excited to see what the results would be and the outcome reflected that good energy.
pinoc - Haven't made any plans...

Thank you guys for the nice comments. It really means alot to not only me, but to the other guys who had a hand in this project. Richard Garcia, the owner of Dyno-Comp played a huge roll in all aspects of this project, From installation to dyno tuning.
Knowing we have a 3 hour time zone difference with RENNtech FLA. They were staying late to help dial in the tune. So a big thanks to RENNtech for helping Bart transform his car.
Also a thanks to the MBH fabrication team. Those guys just work hard, making headers . Its currently 7:53PM MST. I just got off the phone with my lead fabricator. He is at the shop making headers on a Saturday night. Again these guys just work hard.
In the end its great to have a gar come out the way someone wanted. To me thats one of the most rewarding aspects of projects like this. By the time Bart got in his car, the guys at Dyno-Comp, and myself. Didnt think of Bart as a customer, but as a friend. I know a bunch of you have had a chance to meet Bart. I think we can all agree, He i not only a great guy, but a fantastic Human Being.
I think we go another MB_Forever (Mo) on our hands, when it comes to all around good guys.
With all that said, I hope to get a chance to meet a lot of you guys, who share the same passion for Mercedes performance that I do.

Definitely, Richard is amazing. I am very picky but I was instantly comfortable with what he was saying and where he was going on this project. Any of you within a day's drive of Scottdale who are contemplating the purchase of these headers should consider having them installed at Dyno-Comp...I know there are good install shops out there but based on my experience I promise you won't regret driving out there.
