what the heck is with all the dang soot that accumulates in about six minutes after a wash? I have to wash this car every other day to avoid looking like the guy who can afford a nice car but can't afford to keep it looking good.

Get one of those California Dusters.

Or just buy a bottle of Meguiar's Quick Detailer and keep some microfibre cloths handy. That'll keep it looking nice and buff without going to the trouble of washing it every 2 days.

i would wax it first so when you use the California duster the dust will slide off easier.

Spray some Zaino CS after wash. Negative charge repels dust. Didn't think it would make any difference on my white C63 but I was very pleasantly surprised.
