Thanks ghostbusters - looks like that bumper might be a clean swap with the 2010... Hmm...

Is it actually. Went to the showroom back in Malaysia the other day, and all new C classes had that, cept' for the C63 AMG.

The C class AMG just about always had a better straight line sprint than the M3, so there's no argument here. All generations of the C AMG always had comfort as an advantage, at least in terms of suspension, but as a cost loses out in cornering to the m3; every single time. The c63 is still 5.41s slower than the e90 m3 in Nurburgring, so nothing has changed there either. The m3 has always outperformed the C in all generations.

I feel that the C AMG was always the better cruiser, but it has never dethroned the M3 of anything yet, afaik.
I feel that AMG management missed an oppportunity with the C63. The objective seems to be a less expensive AMG rather than a specific M3 competitor. The AMG attributes are great but options to make the car better balanced should have been available from the factory. The P30 package comes up far short of what similiar aftermarket money can buy and the P31 may be more powerful but I would still take a tune, long tube headers, KW coil overs, light weight two piece rotors, lighter wider wheels with more aggressive rubber.(the M3 at the ring was on Michelin PS Cup tires 265 & 245 which are a factory option.) I think that lessons have been learned about the C63 buyers preferances which are certainly different than the target audience for the other models and the future offerings such as a coupe version may be more on target. I would also think that co branding with companies such as KW would be a great benefit.

+1 What's KW by the way? Yes, totally agree with you on the target audience and pricing issues with the AMG. That really saddens me. I was hoping that the C63 AMG would literally KILL the M3 on a road course. Hopefully the one coming out in 2012 (the sedan, mind you, not the coupe) will ultimately achieve that goal. COME ON AMG!

The 3 series has always looked good as a coupe ever since the original e30 m3.

The CLK looks too feminine except for the 63BS so I hope they don't screw this one up...
