Go test drive an SL550. Go rent one for a week. Trust me, its worth every bit of 110K and just like the C63 you can haggle that price down a good amount. You can get into one im sure for about 95K.
Your talking about a car you know nothing about and wondering why it costs so much. Instead of arguing on a forum why dont you go educate yourself about it and then come back and tell us why it shouldnt cost that much. Your opinion would carry much more weight.

Whether SL550 is worth $95k is purely subjective. Fashionistas can justify dropping $600 for a brand name belt but I can't.

You are already some lucky b*stards with the pricetags on you M-Bz's... In Holland a stock SL500 (388bhp, 5.4 V8) a whopping 196.423 dollars! We have also a SL350 (306bhp, 3.5 V6) that will costs 138.623 dollars!... Then I say nothing about a SL65 or a Black Series. A C63 will cost you also... hold your breath... 143.026 dollars. So you have 2 C63's in the US, for 1 in Holland (w/o any expensive options). I am soooooo jealous of all of you M-Bz drivers!

Went to the MB dealership and they had the C63 on the showroom floor next to the new SL550 convertible. I took a gander at the prices and my jaw hit the floor. The C63 was being sold new for $57,000 + tax and the convertible SL550 was $110,000!!!!!! WTF I started laughing and the saleswoman came over and asked me what was so funny. I asked why on earth anyone would spend almost twice the price for a car that has less horse power, less torque, less doors, less seats, just...... LESS. Then I asked what about it makes the SL550 more. The only answer she could give me is that it had something to do with the hard top convertible and how they have to reinforce the structure + the fact that the SL550 is their flagship. Hmmmm.... IS the SL550 MB's flagship?? IMO it's not, wouldn't it be the 600??? Either way I left shaking my head. C63 FTW!!!

The diamond doesn't and costs more than watch.
Therefore, diamond loses since it costs more and does nothing.
To the OP, drive the damn SL for a weekend and then get back to us
